Your video helped me figure out what was wrong with my childhood train. No broken gear just popped out of place, but it runs now! (May have broken the music speaker, but it's better than a not running train!)

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. Glad the vid helped. Now you can work on the speaker. Dont worry, I always brake something when I am fixing something else..lol..

We have this same train (came with our house, along with a bunch of other junk the people left behind). This year, we also ran into the same problem you have. Wheels spin if it's turned on it's side but will not run when in the track. We're definitely going to be taking it apart and getting a friend to 3D print it

Hi Thanks for the comment. I took this one apart about 20 times now..lol.. Its not to hard. Let me know if you need help. Also, if you do get one 3D printed would you consider making an extra for me. I can't find anyone to help me with that or may not be looking at the right places. I can cover all cost.

@@elobrero3910 I'll let you know. We've got a couple friends with 3D printers - one is close by, but I'm not sure how familiar he is with it yet - he hasn't had it that long, to make something from scratch. Our other friend has had one for a long time and actually does custom jobs as a side job to his normal day job. He'd have no issues making the custom part(s) as long as I can get him the info. But he lives in another state, so we'd have to have him mail us the pieces once he was done. I'll see if I can get his contact info to you (he might have a maker page or something to contact him).

I've had similar problems before. I get small flat washers/spring washers/snap rings that fit snugly onto the side sleeve of the gears. Also works with small elongated sprockets ;-)

Yes!! I did try this. But with the glue I had already applied before this method, the gear is now a little off center. Now I wish I could find the gear to replace it. Please let me now is anyone has a source or can 3d print one. Thank you!!

Awesome video man. Really cool. I peeped some dope tools you got too. The tool you used to hold the gear with magnifying glass. Reminded me of toy story scene.
