Waffles are fantastic and I loved how they enjoyed them. If we could only get them to try and recreate this dish with their own local ingredients and share it with other villages we will then have created something truly Devine.

Greetings from Canada. We know how good it is. And I was wondering what to make for supper tonight... it will definitely have some maple syrup. Peace, love and bellbottoms.

The waffles absorb the syrup, so it's nice to have the bottle of syrup nearby to keep pouring it on.

Maple syrup can be made from any species of maple tree you have nearby, they all make the sweet tree sap that is cooked into Syrup but the most common types used in North America to make Maple Syrup are from (Sugar, Black, Red, and Silver) Maple trees.

Fruit toppings and whipped cream are also nice on waffles. You can dress them the way you would pancakes. Butter and powdered sugar are a favorite topping of mine on waffles. Even peanut butter with syrup is nice on waffles and pancakes.

Waffles! Yes! One of my favorite foods because they are so versatile. The flavor of the waffle can be changed - so many recipes I will never try them all. Most importantly, maple syrup is the best syrup for waffles and maple syrup can be very different from brand to brand. Best thing I really enjoy about waffles is eating them for every meal. There are savory recipes as well as sweet recipes. Also, the waffles can be made into different shapes. Syrup isnt required because the topping can be fruit and whipped cream. Or peanut butter and orange marmalade. One thing that I have really enjoyed is making stuffed waffles, both savory and sweet. I was even planning to make some today with cherry pie filling and cream cheese frosting for filling. Make a few and freeze. But at least one will be served hot with a scoop of ice cream. I really could eat waffles daily because of all the recipes and variations. Along with the stuffed waffles maker, I also have a waffle bowl maker. Waffles are Most definitely a top favorite foods. As long as they are homemade, I can find recipes to go with any mood or occasion.

Made using a waffle iron or waffle press. Basically you pour batter similar to pancake batter into the bottom, and the close the top lid on top, turn it on and it heats up, cooking the batter into waffles. Takes a few minutes. Both sides have kind of square "teeth" or whatever you want to call them, that press into the dough, making the square impressions for syrup or other stuff like fruit or whipped cream, nuts, honey, or whatever to sit in.
@MGmirkinАй бұрын
Waffles are tasty and fun. Slightly bland on their own, buy typically topped with syrup, fruit or other toppings. Strawberries + syrup + nuts, + whipped cream is very tasty. Alternately warm cinnamon apple sauce is also nice. OR standard maple syrup or other fruit syrups...
@kathleenmayhorne3183Ай бұрын
Waffles are made with a liquid "dough" poured into an electric machine which makes the shape, and cooks them, to collect the butter and maple syrup after it is poured over, not honey. Look up recipes for pancakes, crumpets and pikelets, they are made with a similar liquid.

If they want to make imitation “maple syrup” at home because I know maple syrup must be hard to get in Pakistan, tell them they can boil methi seeds in water until the aroma is infused, then strain this, add jaggery, and cook it down into a syrup. This will make something that tastes basically the same as maple syrup with local ingredients.

Interesting that boiled down tree sap from the sugar maple can be so tasty. Fun fact, the waffle iron was made by an American gentleman in 1865. The one he made was most likely to cook over a stove as electricity in homes wasn't really common in the US until 1920.
@PhantomQueenOneАй бұрын
You can still get waffle makers online that you can use on the stove. The folks from Pakistan have said that the power grid isn't very good. Even in the US we sometimes have issues. The power crashed for several hours twice yesterday. It was annoying (and hot)! But there was a pretty big storm, so that happens.

@decolonizeEverywhereАй бұрын
@@Bowhunters6go8xz6x you can do the same thing with Walnut trees. But that doesn't change the fact that that syrup in the bottle isn't made from Black maple. The commercial industry doesn't use black maples, they use sugar maples. In any syrup made from any other types of trees is simply a novelty that won't never reach their borders.
@Bowhunters6go8xz6xАй бұрын
@@decolonizeEverywhere Sugar maple (Acer saccharum) and black maple are the most common sources of sap for commercial production because their sap has a higher sugar concentration. Silver maple sap has a lower sugar content (1.5-1.75%) than sugar maple (2-3%) and black maple (2-3%), so it takes more sap to make syrup but they can all be mixed and nobody can taste the diffeence.
@decolonizeEverywhereАй бұрын
@@Bowhunters6go8xz6x and still maple syrup commercially is made with sugar Maples and anyone that uses black Maples is doing their own maple syrup like my grandparents. All of those things that you said may be true but that doesn't change that fact. Maple syrup came from black Maples because it came from sugar maples. You can argue all kinds of semantics until you're blue in the face and it doesn't change it.
