The whole thing sucked. First off, he wasn’t even in the whole episode. Second, he had no relationship with any of those people besides Jane and Michael, who was working. He couldn’t stand Amanda and yet she was the one he confided in for his secrets and not Jane? No way does that make sense. The show wasn’t even Melrose at this point. It was just shit. I dread when season 5 ends bc I know the suffering I have to endure for two more seasons in order to finish the series.

The way they killed Matt off was also the same way they killed Sydney off and it was weird at first but then I think I got an understanding: the person who played as Matt and (Doug Savant) and the person who played as Sydney (Leighton) are married and their characters on the show were both killed off the same way: Car Accidents. It was just a coincides that they both left the show at the same time and didn't come back for like a year and so, the writers thought it would be best to kill them both off to give them a send-off. They should have never even done the episode like this and we never even got to see a funeral, all we got was a journal that Matt had "kept" secret for all these years. The way they killed the main characters off was just stupid.

Sydney fake her death and Michael helped her because she thought when she got ran over that it was someone from her past that was after her and she didn't want who she thought it was to go after Craig Sydney is in the 2009 reboot and she had to do jail time for faking her death and she ended up getting a drug problem because of the accident cuz she was always in pain and she ended up taking pills

Jane or jo would’ve been who he confided in. And the only ones with real experience with him and a friendship was Jane and Michael, who wasn’t even there at the time of the death announcement. This was absolutely awful and why the show was dead at this point.

Just like bringing back Kimberley’s mom. Just like Billy and Jennifer getting together. Kyle and jane getting together. Lexi going from poor soul to evil. The whole show was one shit fuck by season 6. Once Matt left, it was dead and should’ve been ended right then. Not carried on for two long, boring seasons.

Yes I agree they should have brought back some of the original cast and maybe even had them at a memorial service for him. I bet Rhonda took the news of him dying really hard off screen. They were really close friends during season 1. They should have had Rhonda come back for an episode concerning his death. Another thing that didn't really make sense to me was when Amanda went to see his Mom after he died (she was the one who gave Amanda Matt's diary). They should have had it be someone else because Matt didn't really have a close relationship with his Mom because she was homophobic.

She was awful in this show. The whole new cast brought in from season 5 was terrible. The only one that was decent was Lisa rinna. Once she left, the show really had nothing left. Jane and Michael were there sure. But they ran their course. Amanda was the new Allison at this point. And Lexi was the new her. Neither satisfied their roles. I always thought season 7 was the worst not 6. Just because the cast in it made the show dreadful.

I disagree I think season 7 was. We got the worst character of all, Ryan here. He was worse than coop. Then we got the stupid eve/Amanda/Kyle/Peter thing, which was just her trading spots with Taylor or Lexi. Lexi was a poor version of Kimberley/Sydney/Taylor. I never thought she was a good character. And the whole show focused on Amanda and Kyle, kyle now. U know when he’s the main male character, there’s a bad sign.
