Melt and Pour Soap Craft: How To Make Sugar Scrub Soaps From Melt and Pour Soap
Sugar Scrub Soaps are easy to make using melt and pour soap base! Just melt the soap base in the microwave and add sugar to make it a scrub. You can use soap molds or candy molds. Makes a sweet gift!
Sugar soap scrubs have a little exfoliating sugar in them so they are great little scrub soaps. You can use any mold you like for this spa craft, including candy molds.
In this video lesson we will show you everything you need to know to make your own sugar scrub soaps using melt-and-pour soap. To make this project, you will need:
4 ounces of White glycerin soap base, Pink soap colorant, Essential oil, “stress relief”
Vitamin E oil, Granulated sugar, Rose candy mold, and Rubbing alcohol. You will also need a microwave, a Pyrex measuring cup, a chopstick for stirring, a teaspoon, and a spritzer bottle.
These are the steps we will show you in the video How To Make Sugar Scrub Soaps From Melt and Pour Soap:
1. Place 4 ounces of soap base in the Pyrex measuring cup and heat in the microwave at 30-second intervals until melted.
2. Add ½ cup sugar to the melted soap base and stir with a chopstick.
3. Reheat soap base in the microwave for 20-30 seconds, then add 1 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil and stir.
4. Add 4 drops of essential oil and stir.
5. Add approximately 14 drops of soap colorant and stir.
6. Sprinkle sugar into the bottom of each rose candy mold. Reheat soap mixture if needed, then pour into molds. Wait 30 seconds, then spritz with rubbing alcohol to pop any bubbles.
7. Let set up for 24 hours then pop out of the mold. These lovely little soaps make a great gift. Arrange seven on a small plate, wrap with cellophane, and tie up with a bow!

Sorry we missed this! Here's our written tutorial for this project. runningwithsisters.com/how-to-make-rose-sugar-scrub-soaps/ We used 1/2 cup of sugar to 4 ounces of soap base. 75 grams is about 2 1/2 ounces, so you'd use about 1/3 cup of sugar. (But please double-check our math!) J&K

I should probably rephrase my question. Which brand soap base did you use? If you don't mind me asking... The thing is there is many and each sets at different temperature in this project that factor is crucial. But please correct me if I'm wrong. Many thanks for the link. You got a new subscriber:)

Candles.. I use only fragrance oils. Because they are not used on the skin. There was a law passed... in the next few years companies will have to list there ingredients. I'm sure they are scrambling to change there formulas knowing this will happen. Lol

The soap is pretty thick and cools pretty quickly so that may be why. There are "suspension" additives you can mix in too (and some soap bases come with them already added) to help the ingredients spread out evenly in the soap. Hope that helps! J&K

They do not list ingredients in fragrance oils. Yes there are skin safe oils... But when you find out what is in them... not one ingredient used in them is skin safe alone... formaldehyde.. is usually the base of most fragrance oils. I use essential oils because ingredients are listed. Fragrance oils are not supposed to be bathed in either. But we all do it. You do not need to crap on people that like fragrance oils. It's a preference.
@joannateodosio4079

Surprised that you'd add essential oils and then 'colorant'....colorant is chemical based while essential oils are natural. Also: is your melt and pour base detergent free? For those that want to make a natural product, you need to be sure your ingredients are natural...why add some chemicals and some natural additives? Makes no sense!
