Honestly Miku is the cash cow of whichever company is behind that now. She gets all the promotion. She gets most of the merchandise. She gets 21 songs at a 26 songs show. I bet if they would "turn" Rin into a more serious, bit darker, gloomy character (not a goth like), instead of an always cutie girl, she would gain a lot of popularity.
@htsunmiku Жыл бұрын
@@TheLibermaniait's still crypton. They own miku and the other Piapro characters and always will. Miku is basically like the hello kitty of the vocaloid community and it can't be helped. But crypton seem to be showing interest in making more merch/event for the others now. Can't blame creators for using miku when she'll get you the most exposure (this is changing a bit now with vocals like kafu) or crypton for using miku to keep their company going In terms of characterisation, they won't - simply because there is no "characterization" of vocalods besides the very bare bones base they give when selling them. It's creators job to add character. And Rin is very known for singing edgy/sad songs I guess project sekai is the closest we'll get to anything official. But with that each character canonically get like 4/5 different personalities, one for each world

It's been a little over a decade and I still find myself coming back to this live performance of Meltdown, but as someone with a lot more appreciation for music and music production. One reason why I find this iteration of Meltdown so compelling is because the piano solo and Meltdown leitmotif at the beginning lures us in while the rest of the song is the emotional rollercoaster we know and love. I enjoyed how much the band, especially the drummer, seemed to enjoy themselves while having a lot of fun going balls-to-the-wall for the instrumental of this song too! Rin's last belt at the end of the song can be interpreted not only as just another part of the song, but also as a scream or sigh of relief as she falls into the fusion reactor, which is very fitting because her dancing at that moment looks a lot like plummeting backwards... Intentional or not, it's a very nice detail I appreciated when watching the video! This song is ICONIC.
@TheLibermania2 жыл бұрын
This and the 39's Thanksgiving day performance are simply the greatest. The violins at the 39's are just great. But what does it tell you about the lazyness of the people behind the Vocaloids that they make a "Kagamine only" concert and use the same animations then 10 years before without anything special? It just makes me sad.
@grandpacatgirl10 жыл бұрын
Uuurgghhh this song is still one of my favourite old-school Vocaloid songs! Even though it's kind of sad how it's about suicide... ; - ; It's so nice to listen to, I love the way Rin sings in this! Thanks for the translation!
@reisenudongeininaba10484 жыл бұрын
Actually it's supposed to be taken figuratively. It's a song about regretting who you used to be; when Rin talks about diving into a fusion reactor and "the morning when (she's) gone" being a better world, it's meant to be taken as finally throwing that past self away and forgiving herself. That's why in the pv she's seen holding the hand of her younger self during the bridge, and why at the end the younger her falls into the reactor right before the older her is seen outside, enjoying the aforementioned better world without the weight of the past on her shoulders. It can be interpreted as being about suicide, but I think taking it the way it was originally intended is a lot more... inspiring.
@kiggerst4 жыл бұрын
@@reisenudongeininaba1048 yeah i take it as the song meant to move on from your past self/regrets to become someone better for urself

The vocaloid holograms are great but the only problem is they lack emotion in the eyes. I'm not saying they're lazy but it's not too difficult to draw contorted or emotional faces. It's strange for her to have no emotion in her eyes while singing high notes and sad lyrics. This goes for the rest of the vocaloid holograms. I'm sure if they can get the vocaloids to dance, they can furrow their eyebrows at least..

I adore the instrumental and especially the piano opening in this version, but Rin's happy dancing doesn't fit as well as the interpretive dance that chaotically bounces between trancelike smoothness and jerky sudden jolts she has in Project Diva.
