But because of the insanely long copyright protection, Amazon has exclusive rights, with no competition. Roll back copyright protection to life of the author only. Let there be competition in intellectual property that has been around for decades.

I'm genuinely curious what their definition of an activist is. My neighbor is someone I would consider an activist. She dedicated 90 percent of her time to multiple non-profits around the city. She travels to Africa multiple times a year to spend weeks physically helping on the ground level of the organization. She lobbies political organizations constantly... Etc.

The worst thing is that they can see and therefore know they're totally failing, yet they keep responding by doubling, tripling or even quadrupling down. This is just sheer insanity. But it's also something I've predicted at the start of these trends: it's only going to get worse and when they see the end coming they'll ramp it up even more and go completely scorched-earth tactics. It's a classic case of "I cannot win this war anymore but I'll make sure there's nothing left for you to take victory over."
