Neat stuff! Id like to try that out with my kids. Is there any value to my old motor oil? Ive saved about 80 gallons of it now. Does your waste oil burner run motor oil? I might have to watch more of your vids when i got time. Thank you.
@Okiescrapper
@Okiescrapper Жыл бұрын
yes I use old motor oil and mix it with the oil from the ac compressors that I cut down. I mix about 8 oz. of kerosene with it to help it burn good. I have an oil burner play list. there is a video I did about 6-8 weeks ago where I rebuilt the burner, and I had all the pieces laid out on the table so you could see how it was put together, and I have the siphon nozzle on my amazon page

Hi love ya channel. I have a couple of tips for ya take or leave em. The sound for the subscribe animation you have at the start of the video pops headphone users ears out could you lover the volume by half on that sound please, and second I think you need to ask someone for a decent lapel mic cause I can hardly hear you when you walk away from the camera and I end up missing some things you say. Thanks for the entertainment
@Okiescrapper
@Okiescrapper Жыл бұрын
I used to use the chest and head mount for the go pro but people complained about my breathing so I quit using the mounts. I may go with a lapel mic if they figure out why I breath hard. they checked out my lungs and all looks good the listened to them x-rayed them. and I even took the breathing test at the hospital. all came back good, I have an appointment the 17 of this month they want to do some tests on my heart. and see it that could be the cause, I will see what I can do about the sound on the sub/like video

Have you ever tried to put a bucket of water under it? So you could sell the aluminum in pellet form? you could weigh out however much you’re selling easier and it would be faster to re-melt that way as well
@Okiescrapper
@Okiescrapper Жыл бұрын
yes I have it setup for that, and I can add water as I go, to keep the water from getting hot. but I need to raise the area, so that I can make a path for the water to drain away without making a muddy mess of the area

How big is the hole in the bottom?
@Okiescrapper
@Okiescrapper Жыл бұрын
it's a 3/4 inch pipe thread hole, threads are rusted away, it plugs at times so I have a propane torch to heat it up. in the hot summer I never had any problems with it cooling off and plugging the hole

Nice assembly line type process. I had the same crucible pouring clamp, but didn’t like how close it felt-personal preference. I don’t sell mine-I cast. You ever sell copper? Also, another dumb question, what size is that crucible? Thing looks huge! I roll with a 12 kg. ✊🏻🖤
@Okiescrapper
@Okiescrapper 8 ай бұрын
yeah, I don't like how close I have to hold the thing to clamp down good, can get a bit hot on the hand sometimes, the crucible looks to be a #6 8 kg. www.amazon.com/dp/B00FBG3ROO?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzallenhar-20&creativeASIN=B00FBG3ROO&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.35A7I3E8G3UT3&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_d_asin

You are talking about your blue furnace. You have a dryer video i watched and went and got a dryer a few weeks back to scrap. While scrapping it the dryer body is covered with white insulation stuff. Is that the same insulation used for a furnace? Like if I got that red stuff to spray onto it can I use that stuff from a dryer to be used in a furnace? Thank you
@Okiescrapper
@Okiescrapper Жыл бұрын
it may work with a coat of rigidiser over it. not sure if it would last or not, Kao wool it what most use. the blue furnace I used perlite and Portland cement. but it is starting to break off on the inside, I am about to make a new one using dry refectory I hope I have enough of it I may need to buy another bucket of it to make sure

I could get 10 to 15 cents a lb. as aluminum breakage, or melt it into ingots and sell 10 lb. lots for $39.95 on eBay to guys that need aluminum to melt for casting, you can check out my eBay page if you like and see that I am selling at that price. I'm in the middle of the video watching it drip and wondering where is your slag going? If it is going into the loaf as I suspect, does it not affect castings on the end user? I never cast with slag not removed so I am asking so I don't do anything the hard way. Enid
@Okiescrapper
@Okiescrapper Жыл бұрын
I use the melting pot so I don't have to cut the stuff up to fit into a crucible. I remelt the cupcake ingots. and remove the slag. the way the melting pot it setup with gravity drip some trash may fall into the ingots too. that is why i remelt in a crucible. I don't de-gas but if the end user want's they can do that when they melt the ingots. I make small ingots so they will fit most any crucible out there
