The Pixel Sorter effect is somewhat achievable with the wave warp effect. Gives a slightly different look. But I like it.

You can disable the underlying layer and render this with an alpha channel. This will create the DOOM effect.

great! this is very close to the old analog picture break-up from interrupted sattelite feed - where the system is garbliing in-between frames and it looks like the previous image stream is being mapped onto the next (different) image stream - and pixels drift in the direction of the new stream until a new good keyframe is found in the new stream

Question, whenever I try to edit videos and add some cool effects in AE it slows down my computer to a crawl. Is a memory problem on my machine or do I need to convert the videos to something else.

Hey! This is a tricky question to answer because there could be a multitude of reasons. It could be from not having enough RAM, to the video file or effect you're using. I recommend searching online and finding the most common issues, and then going through each solution. Going through reddit threads is usually my go-to method. Good luck 💪
