The copper tubing was the big challenge for me as I installed my danfoss compressor right next to the ice box. I was @mazed that I didn’t kink it. One of those “Why does everything have to be so hard” categories. Nicely explained…

The keel cooler works great. We got down to 12 amp hours a day.

I have repaired more of those units then I care to tell you , its a sideline of mine. There is a reason why they give you spare O rings taped to the top of the compressor.............THEY FAIL ! usually around the 5 year mark . Do yourself a favor if you are going on a long passage away from any support and have someone remove the couples and solder the lines together , change the filter drier/ evac, and recharge the system . Great you went with an aircooled system they are much more reliable . Dont ask me why , its to long to post here. Also loose that speed controller they corrode quickly in the salt air and do strange things.

Nice work guys! I'm wondering if you have separate fridge and freezer compressors? ..or just use the spill over from the freezer side for the fridge cooling? My old Adler Barbour is hanging in there but is a power hog and won't cut it in Mexico/warmer climates so its on the list to R and R. SVRO is looking mighty fine and ready to romp. Cheers!

We just have the one compressor. The fridge is cooled just by the spill over fan. We need to test it to see how often it's running now that we have the keel cooler installed. I think it used to run about 3 times an hour with the fan, but I could be misremembering. It used to run more in the summer for sure, especially during the long heat waves of 100+ degrees.
