The striped Perler beads always turn out better for me and I've had problems with the pearl colours melting too, even on pegboards. When I try to mix the pearl ones with other colours they don't melt at the same rate so they look messed up

Thank you for these tips, always looking for ways to store my crafting supplies. As I'm sure you know, it does mount up! lol I only just started buying Hama beads. It's great to know I can use them in my other crafts and save money.Enamel dots are expensive for what they are. Thanks again & happy crafting!!!

hi roberta, thanks for watching and commenting. have fun melting your beads. i need to check to see if there are new colors released. some of mine are finally beginning to run low. i have been using them for my flower centers. that organizing thing is a NEVER ending battle

Roberta, you made my day. I will definitely post if/when I find new colors. I am working soooo hard use up some of my stuff. Also storing the beads in a new container now. I think I show it in one of my vee-dios. I think it is one of the card shares. If I can find it I will let you know. Have fun melting.

What will you do with all these ‘dots’? I watched this hoping to get info on melting pony beads into sun catchers.😔😔😔
@TheCoutureCrafter8 ай бұрын
I will add them as decorations to flowers or similar to Nuvo drops as accents on the page. 3 dots in one corner, etc. Not sure about melting into Suncatchers. I have had some that melted together. These are opaque and not sure that you would get any reflection.

@TheCoutureCrafter9 жыл бұрын

Hi Ingrid, could you tent the tray with some aluminum foil. You would probably need to reduce the baking time as the foil will hold heat. Do a bit of experimenting and let me know your results.

I have not melted the perler beads yet but want to try those. I did melt a bunch of pony beads probably 6 months ago at least, both the larger ones and the small ones. Mine turned out well but you are right about the smell. I have heard that the perler beads don't smell as bad. Another hint---if you don't have the exact color you want, you can always color the white ones with alcohol markers. Thanks for the Veedio :)
@PaintAndCraft10 жыл бұрын
Veronica! It's been Ages since I've seen you. Glad to have you back on Veedio! You are right, those pony beads smell horrendous. I'll be adding the perler beads to my 40+50% off shopping list. Thanks for all the info. Oh, and have you ever prices the bags out at the Papermart.com website? Their prices are really good. Again, glad to see you posting once more. Gail

I have found that if I heat my oven to 400 and place my trays in for 15 minutes, my beads come out perfect not burnt nothing. Still shiny.. I have also have had trouble as well trying to melt the Pearl beards. They dont melt completely. They leave a small dot in the center. I store mine as well in those bags. I place them in a storage container but it now has become way to small, so currently searching for a new idea for storage. But your video was very helpful.Thank you!

Oh- if you have ANY suggestions (you seem to come up with a way around everything) I am having trouble stamping a good image. I craft with my back propped up legs straight out in my lap. The stamps know it is not a solid surface and conspire against me. I may have my husband cut a piece of particle board, can you think of anything?
@TheCoutureCrafter10 жыл бұрын
hi julie, instead of particle board i would opt for a nice chunky piece of lumber--think thick cutting board. try salvage pieces from HD or Lowe's or any other home store. the particle board will move and give too much. hickory and ash are good shock absorbers. you could also consider oak. now if hubby would consider building you a rolling desk that supports itself on it's own legs that would be great. go here to see a picture. www.thedesignconfidential.com/sites/default/files/final%20box%20and%20mat%20gray%20beige%20wbb_0.png if using acrylic stamps you need a cushion underneath. try an old mouse pad. you can also purchase stamping pads. hope this helps.

Guess who went to Home Depot??? THIS GIRL. I took a lot of meds. I climbed in the floor by the cutting station to simulate being in bed, and they cut it to a GREAT size for me. I also spotted pipe insulation. It is tiny and foam. Wrapped it around the 4 edges so it wont bother me or playing dogs. I had the first evenly stamped image in two years!!! Thank you! Hubby said I was happier with that wood than I was with jewelry or purses lol!

My father in law is a retired architect. He is going to make the bed table :)))))) I look for something for years and you give me two amazing solutions instantly! I was busy tonight. I stuck two mailing boxes together, then covered it in two layers of freezer paper. I now have a craft mat for my distress ink and watercolors! I attached it to one side of my lap desk so it is multi purpose. I cannot thank you enough!

@TheCoutureCrafter7 жыл бұрын
hello Nail Art Queen. I wound up putting them in a storage wall rack that I got from TM. It hangs on the wall and has round openings to hold the plastic containers. i put like colors together. they look really pretty. i only used one of the wall mounts for now and stacked them as the container will hang through the hole. if this link works you can see the containers. if i get a chance i will snap a picture and post it to my blog. i.pinimg.com/736x/8f/7f/17/8f7f17bb1392115716bb45f3991672de--bead-organization-bead-storage.jpg

It looks like you have melted thousands, so I have to ask! Is there an easy way to put them on the pan, my big fingers has them turning over before I can get half of them on the sheet. Oh I did see someone just lift the sheet after cooking and they just popped off easily, then fill the bag like you would be returning embossing powder to a container.
@TheCoutureCrafter8 жыл бұрын
+roostercrow1000 somehow i missed this post. youtube can be a bit finicky sometimes. I used my Cricut spatula/scrapper to help remove them from the sheet. the quickstick might be useful. or a pencil or skewer would keep your fingers out of the way when placing them. i just dumped out a pile and then starting in one corner and worked my way across. i know how you feel. i have VERY large hands--compliments of my dad.
@proverbs31momto56 жыл бұрын
I use a dot of glue and they dont move...and still pop off easily!

I heard someone say that the best way to do it was to bake them at 400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. Checking on them every 2-3 minutes depending on your altitude. See if that works.

I will be projectless after valentines day (is projectless a word? hehe) so putting beads in baggies will give me something to do. After being stuck in bed 2 years I have watched my shows 1000x and read all of my books, stitched up every tear, etc. I want my mind to stay active so may study a country a month, and get a few empowerment and self help books....real ones perhaps I like to feel paper and am on electronic devices enough...anyway, you give me ideas, and create enough of a spark to send me off into craft land for a few hours :)

What books? I am looking for good ones. I posted a question on I think your blog but others may benefit. I want to keep my mind active, learning a country a month. Isn't this dangerous to melt them in the house oven? I mean it's plastic
@TheCoutureCrafter8 жыл бұрын
+ponejito24 Perler Beads fuse through the process of melting with a regular home iron, then cooling. The bead design is then removed from the pegboard, which can be used over and over again. Creative ideas can be found on their Web site www.perlerbeads.com Some facts about Perler Beads: -- The beads are made in California. -- The plastic used in the beads and pegboard shapes is also made in the USA. -- The plastic and color dyes used to manufacture the beads are all non- toxic. -- The beads are made of LDPE, a food-grade plastic. -- There is no chemical coating on Perler Beads. hope this helps. as for the PONY beads, not so sure. the plastic burn off is horrid. i have a craft toaster oven to use outside in the winter or summer times so the fumes can easily dissipate.
