Melting Soda Cans At Home Into A HUGE Custom Coin & Ingot - Casting Aluminum Cans

In this video I'll be melting down old aluminum soda cans and casting a huge custom coin and ingot. With the coronavirus going on right now I decided to pick that theme so both the coin and ingot are related. After casting the coin and ingot, I etched the virus onto the bar and painted the letters on the coin to make them pop out more. Thanks for the video! Excellent subject matter. Your work always turns out fantastic. You've really got some talent and go back to older videos just to watch your creativity. Back in the day, I'd have kids crush cans for recycling center. Had many bags saved up at a time when teaching my son to parallel park. Big 4 wheel drive with monstrous tires, so as he was practicing I threw them under the tires. Turned out like mini pancakes and saved lots of space. Was strictly for off road only, so no damage. what do you use on your ingots for such perfect shining? I see you used all of those sanders and maybe that was an orbital sander but I need something to clean up really rough ingots to the point where they are smooth enough to polish.

If you use very fine casting sand right away to cover instead of that clumpy crap you use, your molds will turn out to be a million times better and wont have as much clean up
