Once you do more hardfaceing you develop your own style of laying down beads. Last big one I did was for a crusher rock hammer. The guy likes beating the snot out of it so i added a few pieces of 1” AR 450 and some spider web passes. Iow behold it held up! That is a decent rod your using

*Good to see you back Rockstar, can I assume it's Roast Elk for Thanksgiving dinner?* *We sometimes TIG with old tool steel or even tungsten carbide drill bits as filler rod but you're burning 4" of rod, adjusting amps, etc.* *Up in Alaska some of the hard facing on buckets etc borders on artwork.*

I get Postalloy 215HD's locally, looks like the exact same style of rod. They run a little different and aren't cheap but they seem to be pretty effective.

Hey Anthony, I was just looking at this exact product the other day! I’ve got a question, if I had to build up a base before hardfacing what builder rod would you recommend using with the zeta c?
@MeltinMetalAnthony9 ай бұрын
I’m not sure what Rockmount suggests. I’ve used xx18 rods in the past

Do you disconnect your batteries when you weld on the truck?
@MREYNOLDS27809 ай бұрын
No I doubt he does, I weld all the time off the back of my truck that has a platform I made that slides in my truck hitch.
@MattSparks4135 ай бұрын
You really don’t have to, most engine drives have grounding lugs you can run to your truck frame and be fine. I’ve never had an issue running my vantage in the field welding off the bed
