When I lived in Melton the Anne of Cleves was my local. What a pub that is. I still go back there when I go and see family.

it really is, to eat in a place with such history is amazing, and the food is another level.

If you go back try the cleves burger. My god it’s a burger and a half everything is homemade. If you like a cheese board I would highly recommend it. It’s not just cheese it’s different meats and of course pork pie and Stilton along with homemade sausage rolls. Also it’s a shame you went when the pork pie shop is closed. They are developing it and creating a cafe. It will be great when it’s finished. Also the museum is a good walk about. I would go back in the summer when it’s open.

I'm surprised the Carnegie Museum was closed on a Tuesday. It's a shame you couldn't wander around the church. Near the Font is a pump for water, I was told that Oliver Cromwell took his horses into the church so they could drink from the Font. The cinema is a listed Art Deco building. Thanks for sharing the link 🔗

We looked in the church but there was some sort of event on so didnt disturb them. The museum was closed for planned maintenance, just our luck 🤦🏻‍♂️💁🏻‍♀️
