I'm here frame one. Weirdly enough, some people actually liked my comments, so for mine and for their pleasure (I hope) I'll do this again Also it's currently midnight as I'm writing this but who needs sleep anyway? 0:14 again, I love the dark aesthetic if fighting game stages and this one is no exception. 0:23 right of the bat and she seems to have an air projectile, seems good to use while both players are moving around in the air and you use it as a surprise, or maybe even as an anti anti air. Also: Noel is the new character right? So there's no "legacy knowledge" on her. 0:29 a projectile that covers three angles at the same time and is fast? The screen control is going to be insane, unless there's a lot of recovery on whiff, so they might be able to dodge it with air movement and such. 0:31 Noel tries to leave the corner while throwing out a button in the hope of hitting but Road hard counters it. That triple projectile is going to be insane for conditioning while they're in the corner. That combo using electricity also looks clean. Always liked the electric like moves in fighting games. 0:39 moon drive on wake up (as a pause button like always), gives her time to anti air with that reversal (that didn't said it was invincible on the side so maybe there's only invincibility on air attacks or on moon drive), then air throws them to the corner. I really thought that air throw was a special just by how cool it looked. 0:43 the range on that move, it seems she will control mid range well if she has any more of those. Also was that last move an overhead that lead into a full combo? Looks like it. 0:47 messed up the combo by not ending it properly, Roa dashes out of the corner but for some reason dashed back into Noel's loving hands of death, or to her loving staff of death? What weapon is that? 0:52 she used her double jump here didn't she? And after the combo she still jumped, maybe she has a triple jump? Having a triple jump paired with big buttons and a good air projectile, she seems very good in neutral if that's the case. (I just frickin forgot that moon drive gives an additional jump, what the hell me? But hey my point still stands, only if she has moon drive while in neutral.) 0:54 she uses the air projectile for oki, so I assume it leaves her plus (it wouldn't make sense if it wasn't) but gets heated away. 0:57 oh so he's a zoner alright. A lightning strike that (because of the angle it sends) covers a good portion of the ground, that he cancels into a horizontal one that covers the *whole* ground like a beam. Into the triple projectile from before that seems really good as I previously said (the area control) that also wall bounced giving him an easy confirm into arc drive that goes... full screen? Imagine if he just has a move that punishes you for pressing a button full screen away, it still would be better to use the projectiles instead, but because it's an arc drive, it's invincible, meaning that it can go through a lot of stuff, like other projectiles, while also doing a lot of damage. When this man heats, one mistake in neutral and you're over. 1:09 ost sounding sick as always. 1:18 that's a very good angle, and maybe dash follow up after shield would've missed because she was too far, the she would punish you for doing that. Seems good. 1:20 that's very quick and safe. Seems like the type of move you would just throw it out without expecting to be punished. 1:22 like if all of that zoning wasn't enough, now there's a triple lightning strike that covers a quarter of the screen for you to dodge, and they appear pretty high so it could be tricky to avoid it through the air, that seems like the only good way of avoiding it other than shield into follow up. Maybe there's a lot of recovery to compensate? It doesn't seems like it though. Either you avoid it through the air and try to take your turn (if he doesn't immediately shield after seeing you getting a bit too close, but I believe shield has quite the recovery for you to punish, but then, you gotta wait for it , and if you wait for too long you loose your turn and he might even start his turn. It seems there will be quite a mess after that move, or you just don't approach at all, but then he would keep zoning you... Damn) or you shield it yourself and hope you're close enough to get a follow up punish. 1:24 that is a fat button. Long range both horizontally and vertically, so it seems very good as an anti-air, and relatively easy conversion into EX for a full combo into knockdown. 1:31 that's a retreating overhead? If it is, then it's good that you're retreating so it seems difficult to punish, but it's slow enough to be shielded and maybe even on reaction. 1:38 Roa did a full combo that had a lot of corner carry, went for a setup into the triple lightning strike, Noel tried to force her way in through the ground but Roa stopped her approach by using the quick projectile. 1:40 rather than trying to approach again she tries to counter his fireball with hers. Wait, I just noticed that she has a countdown on the side of her meter that went down when she threw her projectile, so it has limited uses? That must be a very good move to be limited like that. 1:41 why charge? Seems like you're just giving away neutral mainly because you're not using your good zoning moves, instead just leaving yourself vulnerable for a while, and it didn't even gave much meter. Maybe it was a bait because he recovers so quickly from it he could punish her approach, he even tried to air-to-air but Noel's buttons are just better 1:43 try to jump out of pressure but doesn't block while landing then gets hit. 1:45 that arc drive is the coolest one by far. And the ost playing on the background makes it look much more sick. That also left him in the corner even though she uses it when she was a bit far away from it. 1:52 oh... I remember asking what would a good counter play would be against heat on wake up, but I wasn't expecting for shield to do the job, again. That looked like such a hard read because if it didn't worked she would've been punished, but it looked so awesome that it was worth, but it also made sense for him to heat there, he was on a scary situation on hard knockdown and he had quite a bit of life to recover. Then she punishes Heat with shield follow up. Also, Heat doesn't heal if you're being hit, but your meter goes away anyway, so it will hurt twice as much because not only you're loosing health but you're also loosing meter, meaning that if the combo goes on for long enough, you'll not have heat or arc drive to save you on wake up. 1:54 either she dropped the combo or that was an American Reset because she caught his wakeup with an air throw anyway killing him. 2:01 gross? Because there's blood on him because of that arc drive? 2:05 again complimenting the ost because it sounds so cool. 2:08 so the number knives goes back up to 10 on a new round. 2:09 Noel runs to get some distance to start zoning, but it doesn't look like a good idea of you're doing it against a zoner, but fair enough, her knife toss is pretty fast so it might mess him up on startup on one of his projectiles or punish the recovery, but then again, it's limited use, but ten seems like a good number to last through the whole round so I don't think you should worry about it that much. 2:13 good air to air to start her pressure, and it ends on what it looks like a frame trap into a full combo. 2:21 She uses her knife for oki, but then cancels that knife into another one? It's pretty sick that she can follow up like that. Also worth mentioning that those knives did quite the chip damage. It's easy to see that after the 2nd knife she was plus, but it looked like there was a gap between the two knives, so maybe you can jump out or punish it with shield? 2:24 and then she does it again but on a blockstring, and she's also plus after that so that looks like it's a good way to reset pressure, but then again they're limited, so I would only use them in knockdowns to avoid loosing all of them. Anyway, Roa dies a risky button while Noel jumped over to bait something (maybe you *can* shield between and after the knives so that might be what she wanted to bait), she doesn't punish him but she gets to keep pressure (lucky her for Roa not to have anti-aired her). Also, how did he canceled the first lightning into the triple one? Was the first one a normal that he canceled into a special or you can cancel specials into EXs? 2:37 that's a good reverse beat right here, gives her enough space so all the opponent's buttons whiffs the she punishes them with another long range button, or gives her enough space to see and punish a shield attempt. Do reverse beats leaves you plus? If that's the case, then that pressure looks even better because you might counter their long button that are usually slow, so the plus frames would mess them up. 2:38 can she whiff cancel her normals or is that a rekka? Looks sick nonetheless. And the last hit has a lot of range, so whiff canceling into that looks tricky to avoid and punish it. 2:40 moon drive to extend her pressure and that run up was good because she would be able to see a shield and punish or, on that case, she can (and did) punished a backdash, and that hit looks big enough to catch a jump even. I've never had this type of error before, and I assume that it's because it's too big because it won't let me edit anything else in, so I'm continuing it here: 2:49 that's the long range buttons, it could be useful for whiff punishing on the ground or just footsies 2:50 he gets some space by backdashing then does a lariat type move, then cancels it into moon drive, giving him enough time to react and think of a response to that situation, that happened to be a big anti air, and I assume Noel couldn't block it since it's a grounded move. It looked much better and easier to confirm with moon drive. Now I see he was already in moon drive, but why anyway? More frame advantage? Excited to play the game even more now, and Noel seems very fun and interesting, with that move that looks like a rekka and looks sick, that arc drive that is the best one I've seen visually, and those knives that she tossed that are also pretty cool, and those big buttons as well. Ria also looks cool with the lightning setups, but other than that she seems like a traditional zoner. Will definitely try Noel alongside Hisui and Akiha once I get my hands in the game.

I wonder how much advantage Noel has with her knives. Just from this video, it seemed like she threw them in an oki situation but it seems that there's not a lot of incentive for throwing them in neutral since its such a small hitbox and you have a limited amount

When the game comes out for a while you're gonna see higher level players do things like that or OTG (on the ground) combos often. This puts the enemy in a tech situation where your character's in a good position to read and punish most of their options Tech punishes are also gonna fuel so much salt in newer players to the franchise I can't wait 😂
