Melusine is a legendary figure in European mythology, a beautiful woman cursed to transform into a mermaid-like creature. Despite the curse, she fell in love and married under the condition of weekly privacy so her husband would not discover her curse, but her secret was eventually revealed, leading to her tragic departure.

And according to Philippa Gregory, Melusine is the ancestress of King Edward IV's wife, Elizabeth Woodville, a great grandmother of Elizabeth I.

Not just Philippa Gregory. In fact, as Elizabeth Woodville has descendants now, Melusine is the ancestress of the British royal family. 😉

0:00 Really so this is beautiful woman Melusine. It looks like Mermaid, snake and wings too. 0:31 She met nobleman Raymond fall in love. 0:57 A man tell him there is something about her. 1:07😨 Raymond see his wife by a keyhole. 1:21 😭 Wow Melusine was crying when he realized he saw her true colors and called her a snake had broken his promise. 1:37 She just flew away like dragon like being and abandon Raymond. 😥 Now that was very sad story of Melusine The Mysterious French Mermaid. She shouldn't do that with terrible bad feeling a man who fall in love you. They need to keep it secret.

In Portugal, this very similar tale is registered, going so far as to be part of the origin stories of an ancient noble house, in the XIst century, later penned in the XIIIrd century's "Livro Velho das Linhagens", about noble lineages. Here, she went by the name of "Dama de Pé de Cabra" (Goat-foot Lady). Also called "Dona Marinha" (Sea Lady).

*The secular West’s double standards are glaringly evident from how they deal with “irrationality”. When this so-called irrationality is linked with religion it’s a problem. However, when it comes to things like “gender fluidity” it’s completely fine. Another example that can be mentioned is how the “clairvoyant” Edgar Cayce was extremely popular during the early 20th-century.* And it’s the same story when it comes to aliens. The secular West, unable to fight its innate tendency to believe in the ghayb, proposes the likely existence of a non-human species that could communicate with our world - the same way Muslims believe in the jinn Of course, all of this is done in the name of their own religion: science. They even have their own priests in the form of astrobiologists, etc. This belief of theirs is of the same nature as ours. Even if they try and add some pseudo-empiricist spice: there may be tangible elements pointing towards the existence of aliens They fail to grasp how we, too, say there are “tangible elements” regarding the influences of the jinn within our world.*

This story is just tragic in my opinion. First of being cursed to be turned into such creature every Saturday by your my just because you've "retaliated" against your father, then falling in love with a noble man and even giving birth to several children, only to then have your condition being the topic of gossip and thus being exposed like that and you have to leave everyone you love behind, restricting yourself with just watching your children and their children grow from afar. Melusine really didn't deserve this at all.
