Many want to compare the voice of today's Sebastian with the voice of young Erik Grönwall. Hahaha Please young Sebastian is infinitely better than today's Grönwall.

Young Sebastian was often pitchy and off key live and only sounded good on record, but couldn't duplicate that live. Erik sounds pretty much like the record live and he was able to do that with his old band Heat too. Bach had already blown his voice out by the time they were recording Subhuman Race, you can hear him screaming the lyrics on their last gig together Rock in Rio '96, because his voice was ripped to shreds by then and he was only 28(Erik is 35), yes he was on Broadway, but he had to relearn how to hit the high notes with the help of a vocal coach, that was 2000. He got his voice back for Broadway, but it's been gone for some time now. So Erik for pitch and being on point, plus longevity so far, wins for me.

@@shellybean9 But Bach's live performances are originally about focusing on the atmosphere of the performance. He often interacts with friends in the audience and drives enthusiasm and energy. Impossible to sing like on the record

@@Thuhtffffff Erik interacts with the audience, he sometimes goes out into the audience (front Row), he jumps around, does flips here and there and still manages to sound like the record. Erik just has that ability, but he was able to do that in his old band H.E.A.T. too, some singers just have that ability.

I've heard these performances and it's definitely not a bad phone recording because from what I've heard it's only the Bach ones that currently sound awful and that's ALL the concert footage I've seen from numerous pages for the past few years. Every SR with Erik video i've seen sounds amazing, so it's not the phone, it's Bach. Granted I wasn't there, but why would I want to be, he hasn't sounded good for quite some time. I'd rather go see the Muppets in concert and judging by this you did. lol

Baz is one of my all time fave vocalists, but man, he's missing like 2 octaves from his voice 😩 And it's not just an age thing, many old time singers can still hit most notes or at least be close to their past voice. Baz has blown half his voice off 😩 He should work with a vocal coach to get his voice to the best shape it can - then it would be much more suitable to joke about Erik (who IS a great singer and who CAN hit all the notes)...

@@PowerRobMusic Lol, I did take 3 years of voice lessons and learned almost nothing 😭 The content was mostly "what u want to sing today?", but I wanted tips and techniques 😢Anyhoo, I threw that 2 octaves out of my armpit! As an ex-mathematican I calculated that since Baz is said to have about 5 octaves range and is completely missing his highest range, it's probably like 2 octaves deficit. I'm sure it's at least 1! And most likely between 1-2. What is ur estimate then?

Sebastian is a great singer and frontman, but this kind of attitude shows how hurt he is with Skid Row success. Erik always talk good things about Bach. He never hids that he is a fan. I'm so sad to see Sebastian doing this.

If Sebastian got into shape dropped just 10 or 15lbs in mid section, put on a little muscle he could likely sing and hold notes clean and long like in his youth. But it would take a lot of discipline on his part. Its either that or continue to lie in bed at night and grow the Vince Neil body and vocals. Like a hungry wolf its chasing you. Will you let it? Or put a stop to it today and change you life! Physically, mentally, spiritually and emotuonally. Humans who don't die young and are unhappy. And treat their loved ones bad. He’s only 55?? Huge fan but he needs some vocal help. Can’t make fun of Erik when you need the audience to sing over half the song for you on one of your slowest songs. Not in key or on time. Sad as Bas was always a favorite. The older you get the harder you have to work- and Bas needs a lot of work vocally and physically. And those that think he still has charisma- Don’t mistake being tall, pot bellied and strutting around charisma - he’s basically a stretched out Vince Neil at this point. We will see how Erik is holding up in 20 years but man, Bas- get a vocal coach and do a few push aways before you destroy what should be a golden legacy.

Sebastian is a legend performing very difficult songs. He literally screamed his lungs out when he was young and damaged his vocal cords. He still sounds very very good. Vince Neil mumbles through his entire set and is incomprehensible. Sebastian has way more character and way more talent.

@@niblet112 Ive got your point. One of the best Rock voices in history and he will be remembered for that. But of course it matters. He still out there and sings the songs. He still can sing, somehow. But in an other way. And to be honest, he don't make the songs justice anymore. Nothing near the original. The crowd saves him. He don't even try to take the high notes anymore. Instead he is almost yodeling in some places. For me It is not good and it matters.

If he wasn’t still enjoyable to watch people wouldn’t turn up. He’s still Sebastian Bach that name will be remembered long long after the (new skid row ) has been and gone. I guess you had to be there when these bands first came out. Sebastian ran around the stage like a man possessed, he partied hard, and sang even harder, go listen to his earlier interviews he led a very wild life. Probably shouldn’t even be here tbh. The man is a different breed of rock star and will always be respected for it. The man is a living legend.

@@niblet112 Actually Matt Fallon will always be the OG, Bach will always be the guy that replaced him, but only because Doc McGhee said he liked Skid Row's sound, but they needed to find another singer. One thing he'll never be, is the guy they actually wanted, that guy was already in the band and his name is Matt Fallon. Matt wouldn't have made them famous though. Just pointing out that Bach wasn't the OG.
