@Patrickthedutch Thank you! This is pure free-fencing, with nothing rehearsed whatsoever (except the little solo bit at the beginning).

One of the best hist. fencing videos I've ever seen on YT. I fence with the langes schwert too but I'm not so good yet. (I hope you can understand what I mean cause my english is not really good too ;-)

@MrFrinkham Thanks! Actually we have nearly no injuries to our hands, wrists or thumbs. Most of our bruises are on the torso and a few on the forearms and legs. Generally we don't run in to wrestle or strike with the body much because that gets us immediately hit by the opponent who maintains better control of his weapon and thus the bind. We do kick occasionally, but even that has to be done at just the right opportunity.

Great stuff. Really good footwork, unlike the majority of hema sparring on yt. Too bouncy! Which you guys don't do. Keep up the great work!

Thanks! The quality should improve as the video finishes processing. It still won't be high-definition, but it'll be better.

Nice to finally see a new sparring video from you guys. Some very impressive winden work in this clip. It also reminded me that I got to work on my pommel strikes. Not only do like look cool, they're effective as h**l. As you guys use the high "vom tag" I got to ask one thing. I love to do a schielhaw from the high "VT" and mostly it's effective, so it's hard to see any down side with it. Have you found any? Thanks for sharing, it's been great fun to watch. Cheers /Robert

Nice work! Great to see that some people really do have a go at each other. Your hands, wrists and thumbs must look hideous. I'm curious though, not being as au fait with the system, why don't you punch and kick each other whilst in those close binds, especially when both opponents' arms are forced high? Or is this sparring done with strict rules? You two'd be tough enough to punch/elbow each other, so I'm curious as to the niceness of the CQB. Thanks!

Impressive Flourish at the start. But I'm pretty sure you are just supposed to show off, not actually hit your opponent!
