What’s the point of flipping phospholipids from one side to the other if they’re the same?

sebastian cuello i believe for maintaining the asymmetry of the cell membrane . They are not the same BTW.

they’re not all the same and flipping phospholipids is important for apoptosis and notifying the body that a cell is dying. When phosphotidylserine is flipped from cytosolic side to exoplasmic, it means the cell is dying.

sir , in book i read 3 types of movement : flip flop , lateral , and rotational . so is rotational a different type of movement or the combination of the catalyzed movement ???????????
