I am 57 yrs old and sometimes I think I get too wrapped up in the music from the 70's and 80's that it is unhealthy. These songs just bring back so many wonderful memories that it puts me in a sad place that I know I shouldn't be. I adore this song and many others from the era that just bring back wonderful times that will never happen again. It is said often in these threads but if I had a time machine I would go back.

Too sad for me personally. Yes, it's very moving, but it's a very sad melody about seeing someone you love and spent years with, but you can never be with them again - ever. Yes, you go crazy inside but not in a good way. The song makes me depressed, as do many of the late 70s songs like this. I much prefer the more upbeat songs from the 60s and early 70s as well as 1980s New Wave. Stuff that doesn't make me depressed when I listen to it. Just my 2 cents

TheJazzyjeff333 Hey, Jeff, I was 12 and in 7th grade too. When I Go Crazy played on the local radio station, I kept listening before and after to get the name of the singer so I could spend 99 cents to buy the 45 record. Well, nimrod that I was, I kept hearing the DJ's name from the station and thought it was the singer's name. Couldn't find it...Finally, after several weeks, Paul Davis's name was mentioned. I think I still have the 45. :)

Oh yes the eyes of your love are something that you do in fact get a type of crazy as it should be there is a very enjoyable experience for the person who is got those eyes close and if you have never looked into your loves eyes and jjust get lost in a very deep way .You want to be in a couch or whatever it is that you are relaxed and facing each other. I have done this for long periods of time usually after we have went crazy so we are not as evicted. You may find this to be almost hypnotic or trance inducing, That is the goal it takes a good relaxing effort and the way you can loose yourself in the eyes of your love is very calming and uplifting. You may experience deep relaxation and as you both cherish the silent time to be close to each other in a new way. If you get lost in the eyes of your love you will feel as if your using a ability to look at the eyes or at this point I will call it gazing into the window of the soul and I hope your into all that. If not you may be if you can take it to the point where your eyes loose some focus and you will know what I'm talking about normally one will notice something and say that they just hit a mild cognitive impairment of the eyes and they will be anxious to get back to it. Don't give up on it. If you are calm and patient people, you should enjoy this if your not already doing it. It will become as important as other valued alone time.

Yea I hear you but the break down of family started in the 70s and got alot worse Thank God I was just on the surface of it I was 8 years old when this was played and I loved it then...I was also spanked when I did wrong and paraded when I did right. But now that is being lost no accountability in our government or anything else God forbid Lord help us before its too late!!!

One of my all-time favorites. this is on my top 150 list, which is a no particular order! That piano and guitar really sing to me and I'm sorry to hear that we lost Paul Davis about 16 years ago. He had such passion.

What a voice Paul Davis has. Man I love this song... Never gets old, even after all these years. Never to be duplicated, the magic of these old tunes. Gifts from heaven. How do they come up with these melodies?

Every song is a story & it's probably a story of a girl that Paul had at one time, but like I said every song has a story of pain guilt passion love hurt etc etc, but it was a beautiful song yes. R.I.P. PAUL YOU ARE TRULY MISSED.

I know this is strange, but this song brings back so many emotions and feelings. I was in junior high when this song was popular (1977) and I remember laying in my room, listening to my little 9v transistor radio, and day-dreaming about this girl I had a crush on. Oh the pains of the heart in our youth. Love the nostalgia this song brings.

Sweet, romantic lyrics. No profanity. Beautiful melody. It’s amazing how music has deteriorated since the 70s and 80s. Born in 1960 and so grateful for having grown up in this era.

I miss soft rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I never could figure out how this song style became extinct. Except for an occasional gem here or there, the last 40 years have been an abysmal wasteland.

Pure talent without autotune, I honestly miss the 70's big time. I was born in 1960 and keep getting drawn back to this era and the hard rock era all the time. To me it was just a great time to grow up. The music now only has a choice few talented artists and groups but it seems like there isn't the same amount as when I grew up.
