Al Culpepper oh man. I feel ya. My fiancé’s mother’s fiance, after finding out that I was medically transitioning, started treating me differently the minute he found out. First he didn’t know how to act, I could tell. There was uncomfortability there. Yikes. Then he started shaking my hand instead of giving me a hug which is fine but things had changed. For him, ya know? But damn I’m Italian and Irish! We fucking hug and shit. Doesn’t matter what sex you are. But not for him I guess. Then later weird comments started to become the thing. Like, “ Now that you’re a man, I’ll have to teach you to X,Y,Z.” I’m like lol. The problem is, I know how to do all those things already. Cringe. 😆 So I can relate. It’s hard in them. But their trying. All we can do is either let things get back to a new normal for you guys and/ or have a talk about things. Cringe. I know. But even though it would be hard to do I believe it would really help take away some of the strangeness in the long run. My first year or so at high school I went all the way down to the first floor to use the nurse's restroom or the special needs one because that's what the principal said to do. I got sick and tired of walking all the way from the third story up all the way down and then up again. So, I said fuck it, I'm using the men's room, deal, and I never really had any issues besides one of my teachers being apprehensive about it and a few misgenderings. I go in the men's room everywhere now, and since I have been on testosterone for a year now, I don't really get any trouble at all. I graduated 2018. I'm 19 now.

Neither am I, but I'm always happy to support all kinds of people in their passions! - Contrapoints, for instance, does make some enjoyable, insightful, and empowering content, and I really enjoy it. Seriously, sometimes she fucking kills it when she makes her case in support of trans rights and/or equality. It's all well and good wanting entertainment (and entertainers) that represent us or are relatable to us in some way, but it's tragic that other people like me (either Heterosexual, Caucasian, Male, or all of the above) can't deal with the idea of protagonists or presenters being in any way different to them and choose not to follow them on their journey and enjoy a new perspective (or in the most extreme cases, don't feel comfortable with representation for anyone other than their own demographic at all) :'(
