My daughter received her new liver in Oct 2020 at the tender age of 17 years old. Transplant life has been very difficult for her. I am so glad things are going well for your son! Guttard chocolate chips are the best. The combination of milk and dark chocolate is amazing, the creaminess of the oversized milk chocolate chips and the super deep chocolate flavor of the dark. Use butter for better flavor and to prevent the cookie from spreading too much refrigerate the dough for at least an hour before baking. Top with a tiny sprinkle of sea salt to bring out the chocolate flavor even more for that bakery look and taste. I also add additional chocolate chips when the cookies come out of the oven.

In the original toll house recipe it was also a cup of chopped walnuts and a quarter teaspoon of almond extract. When they started selling the chocolate chips premade instead of just breaking up a bar of chocolate and that your original bags had that recipe. The tall house isn’t that far from where I live I can’t remember the woman’s full name but her first name was Ruth. Your suggestion to refrigerate is correct and I usually split butter and shortening gives better structure to the cookie. The salt is also very good idea but Meme Has a goal of trying to get a really good cooking made by busy people in a shorter space of time and I have made her a recipe and it is very good and it takes about half the time. I’ve never met a chocolate chip cookie I didn’t like.

I have been watching your video's for the last few weeks. Most are familiar southern food I grew up on as a kid on the farm in Arkansas. I'm 63 with 4 adopted kids 9 months 9 years 11 and 13 year old and still work full time and can use all the help we can get. Can't wait till it gets here, oh the cookbook I purchased.

I use essentially the same recipe but I only use light brown sugar and I use butter flavored crisco in my cookie dough. But the recipe is the exact same one basically. I make mine too large lol so I get less cookies. Good to watch your videos. Leslie in Florence Alabama ❤

I'm famous for my chocolate chip cookies too! I've made soamy I don't need to look at a recipe card either. It's stuck in my head. My recipe uses half bitter and half shortening (2/3 cup each), a cup of brownnsuhar and one of white, with 3 1/4 cup flour, 2 eggs, vanilla (I don't measure either😂) and a teaspoon each of soda and salt. I've always baked at 375 for about 11 minutes. I'm going to try your method of moving the sheet up after 7 minutes. Now, I'm craving some fresh cookies. Guess I better go make some. My husband and 92 year old mother in law (you remind me of her) will sure appreciate them. Love your channel and just subscribed.

I'm so glad that I came upon your videos. You remind me of my mother, especially when you are using Vanilla and you don't measure. She cooked that way. She could go by sight and tell how much to add of different things while she was cooking. One thing she was GREAT at doing was to cook the meat, potatos and vegetables so that they would all be done at the same time, that way we all enjoyed a hot meal straight from the stove to the table. That's a skill. We took in for grante then...but now I really appreicate all she did for us in the kitchen. She passed away in 2007, and there are so many things that she cooked that I will never have again. I recently tried to duplicate her Chicken soup recipe and I came really close to getting it. She started with a whole chicken...and I started with broth. Big difference, but I cannot cook a whole chicken.. Have a blessed day! Now I want a cookie!!

My grandmother used to make THE BEST chocolate chip cookies. Mine are good, but I've never found any others as good as hers! Chewy and flat in the middle, and crispy, buttery around the edges. Always what I strive for! Oh how I wish I had some right now!

I just always have used Crisco but you can use butter. It does change the consistency of the cookies. My great grandson is allergic to soy so if he is around to eat them I make them with butter.

Interesting. I make chocolate chip cookies all the time, too, and I use the recipe on the Nestle's Toll House chips bag, which has the following differences: 1. I use 8 ounces of unsalted butter, softened. 2. I use my stand mixer. 3. I bake mine, two trays at a time, at 375 for 11 minutes. 4. I use parchment paper. 5. I let them sit on the pan for 2 minutes after they come out of the oven, before putting them on the cooling rack. 6. And I put a tablespoon of espresso powder in each batch.

Look in the cake decorating section of Walmart or craft store (Michael's or Hobby Lobby). They all usually have great options for packaging...
