We were there in November & were very underwhelmed. It is a fine resort, but no where close to five star and comparable to others in Playa Mujeres. You can tell they do cut corners (look at the drink glasses vs. other resorts). We're no big into entertainment, but there was next to nothing and the cheap liquor (even their top shelf was sparse). Food was meh (certainly the Buffet was lacking), especially bad sushi and Teppanyaki restaurant. Tripadvisor has some fairer reviews. Good food was seafood pasta at Italian, Udon bowls, French Fries and Fish Tacos from the cart. Coffee shop a disaster (open only 10:00-5:00).

I certainly agree it is not a 5 star. I do not expect 5 star from the Catalonia brand. When an all inclusive is less than $150 per night, you should know what you're getting and curb your expectations.

However Tripadvisor has it as a 5 star Hotel class, their highest rating and which is the same as others in Playa Mujeres (one of which you've reviewed glowingly and we went to) and brochure price retail price was comparable (yes got a great deal too). I didn't expect the same, but it fell far short (see my detailed review on Tripadvisor). We were there in November and noticed in the videos that earlier that there was higher quality of alcohol available and other small things that all of a sudden disappeared come our November vacation. An example is their National liquor Kahlua. They weren't serving that they were serving some lower-quality one when I ask for something simple as Kahlua and milk.

Have a great time! I scheduled the test when I arrived, you scan a QR code in the lobby and pick your time. Depending on how you booked, it maybe free or it maybe $18 per person. Results came back in an hour, and were emailed. Thanks for watching 🏝

I'm not sure if you will remember... but on their website it shows a small kids area/splash pad with a slide. I didn't see it in any of your high up footage... do you remember coming across it at all?

Yes, they have that! It’s over by the main pool area. Good for very small kids. Probably under 7 years old.

Great video!! We are thinking about a trip there in October . How would you compare this place to the Majestic Elegance? We stayed there last year. Is the Privilege worth the extra money? What are the perks? Do you make reservations daily at each restaurant ? You mentioned room service ordering a day ahead. Is that just for breakfast or can you get a pizza or burger at anytime? Sorry so many questions. Its so nice to be able to get information from someone that has been there!!!!

At this time, Covid tests are not required to enter Mexico. You may need one to go back home. The US requires a negative test to renter, I don’t know about other countries. Policies are constantly changing, so double check closer to travel!

Yes- Covid testing right on site! There is a fee ($18 per person) however, depending on who you book with, it’s waived. (I did not pay)

No hidden fees except a nightly environmental fee that all area resorts charge (which isn’t hidden). I’m a travel agent, so I book myself 🙂

If you want something specific! They do have a store on site was decent priced alcohol, plus duty free at the airport. The antigen comes back in a few hours.

Those pool floors were from Walmart. They do sell floats on site, but they are about $35. I much prefer my $5 one from home and then I just leave it behind for someone else 🙂

Hey Krystal! I only have bathing suits, so I can’t speak to other items, but definitely read the reviews. I recommend sizing up on most items, but the reviews and pictures were super helpful to me! And returns are easy (which I was surprised at). I’ve kept 95% of what the bought. Quality is so so, but when something is $10, if I only wear it once or twice I’m ok with it 😊

I ordered from shein. I would say everything is true to size. Shoes are hit and miss. My sneakers are 1 size too small. Heels a little on the bigger size. Do not order the clear flip flops with one strap over the toes. My toes are bleeding! The tskin tight cotton dresses run VERY small and the oversized jeans I bought are huge except the waist ao I can't wear. Lol. Accessories are awesome! Don't let my review on the clothes scare you. They are great quality and for the most part are true to size. Other jeans fit perfect.
