Agree with more indoor bars. In June, it was HOT for pre-dinner drinks - and we didn't have Desires as a post-dinner option since it wasn't open yet. Since Scott and I travel in July, it does hold me back from booking this for us. I made that same point about the full length mirror in my review video - SUCH an easy fix! Put a full length mirror inside the closet- I said the same thing!!! Come on! We need to see the whole outfit! I am happy to hear you didn't experience any gross sweetener mixes- that was something we DID experience, and in a convo w the food and bev manager it was something they were trying to address.

Thank you for another great series! We are UVC members so we will definitely consider visiting the resort this Fall. I agree 100% about your comments on lack of privacy in the bathroom. We've stayed at 5 or 6 Secrets and I think the slats in the bathrooms are more the norm than the exception.

Another amazing review! We absolutely loved this resort and are so glad you did too. We are headed to Atelier in a couple months for the first time based on your review. Glad to hear playa blanca is similar. We agree with many of your favorites too (Rendezvous, beach, Himitsu). One thing I'm surprised you didn't say in the room review was how hard it was to open the closet doors. Have they changed that?

I wanna stay here! Was just at the new Secrets Tides and loved it, I think you would, too. It has fully private bathroom, Desires sports bar is open at noon, beach was excellent for that area, many pools, shorts allowed for the guys at dinner. 9/10 for us. It is missing the French restaurant. Boo. Thanks for all your reviews.

Great review guys! How would you (or anyone out there whose been to multiple secrets) compare this resort to other secrets specifically the sort of 'flagship' properties like Maroma, Akumal, Cap Cana and maybe the newer Moxche??

Very similar! Moxche is my not favorite, but it’s very similar to all others you mentioned.

@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel What was it about Moxche you didn't care for? Personally I don't find the newer properties have the same 'feel' for lack of a better word. Maybe its because they feel less tropical because they don't have the mature vegetation and in time that will improve? Maybe because the older properties have the better locations? All the new secrets properties seem lovely but just seem to have a ' nice hotel that happens to be in Mexico' feel as opposed to that tropical paradise feeling.

Agree 100% about full length mirror being a must and so easy to include - also titchy tiny teeny weeny vanity counter space round the basins , plus the see through bathroom partition - yak! Hooks in bathroom ands bathroom layout in general is important! Secrets PM is the same way. Best bathroom in my opinion has been Iberostar Grand in Mo Bay and Riv Maya (JOIA)

Me and my husband we been to atelier and excellence and we really love it. We looking to go back Cancun for our anniversary 10 years We would like to go try this hotel but I can't decide between go back to atelier or try this hotel. Can I ask you. If it you which one you would go between atelier or secrets playa Blanca?

I don’t really believe in comparing too much, as resorts are different and unique in their own way. They are similar and I like them both 😊

I can’t really answer that. I don’t judge resorts that way. Sometimes I’d pick Atelier and sometimes I’d pick a secrets, it really depends on what I want that particular trip.

The way the resort is set up, there’s no reason to go to the lobby unless you’re checking in/out. I do wish for another indoor option for sure!

Love this review. Can't wait until you guys go to Hotel Mousai Cancun! There's Dreams then Secrets then Finest then Excellence then Garza Blanca but then there's Mousai! Only your daily vlogs can do it justice. After 44 all inclusive stays so far, Mousai is the best. Highly recommend for you guys.

The completely open bathroom there is what holds me back. I really hate that! I actually had a reservation for this year and cancelled it. I do want to try a shaved ice cocktail at the pool though 😊

I thought I'd hate it too, but the toilet area felt private because of the frosted glass and size of the space, and the shower steams so quickly that you actually can't see through too much. The rooms with the two queen beds have more private showers, intentionally frosted glass. Mousai could also use more counter space and bathroom hooks, but the food, service, overall vibe is something else -- all is forgiven. I thought Excellence was the best until Mousai. ❤️

Poor Kevin! His face says it all when you said he wakes you up at night with the light, lol. Maybe take your flash off your camera when you take photos of food? Food definitely looks better in natural light. Hope that helps!
