It's darling! Last year, Jimmy and I spent Christmas just the two of us. Earlier in the week we had visited his parents, but we had a cozy fun Christmas together. Hi Donna! I completely agree - building memories are so important - and it has been nice to take the time to record them. I really need to get better about printing out our pictures and recording them. It made me smile to recall the blessings of being with our family and friends. Thank you for sharing that you always get to be with family. This was our first year that we were away from family on Christmas (other than my mom) and it was a huge change. It really made me treasure the times we had much more. So glad you get to be at your nieces house - brunch is the BEST meal in my book! Up until eight years ago, Christmas was My Absolute FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR! I "LIVED" for "The Holiday Season!" I always loved to decorate inside & out & make my Friends & Family truly Enjoy & Adore Celebrating Together! ...Rather than being "One of THOSE people," I'll skip over the past 8 Christmases since I didn't even put up A Christmas Tree... *BUT* I'm Excited to have My Own Place where EVERYONE who knows me; Know They are ALWAYS WELCOME at My Home! I remember the first Christmas with my hubby...all we could afford was one strand of lights and one roll of ribbon that I made small bows out of for the tree. I love these family memories of yours! You have some great photos. I love hearing about all the food you made! We had a very quiet and subdued Christmas in 2023. I was getting toward the end of chemo and felt really awful. We only celebrated with our 2 children and my son's partner and later in the day our "bonus" son came to hang out. I don't even remember what we had for dinner, my daughter and husband made food but I did not eat. While it was not the best Christmas I felt very fortunate to be spending it with the people I love most!

I can't believe how many there are from just our first year! It makes me want to keep going with it. I am so thankful we became friends in 2023 too! My husband and I thought about moving to Tennessee, but it never happened. I always thought it would be a beautiful place to live. That's interesting that you and your husband thought about moving to TN too - It really is a pretty place to live. Having seasons is a really nice change - but on days like today - I miss the more mild temperature of CA - of which I thought was hot, but little did I know - LOL! What a blessing to be with your church family! I worked at our church for 13 years and loved being with my church family - staff and members! I miss that. Hi Rana. I love your 1st. Christmas in Tennessee , memories. Those tags are really cute. This past year I spent Christmas Eve day with my brother and his family and then spent the night at my daughters so I was there to see the grandkids open presents in the morning. This last Christmas I was recovering from Shingles on the right side of head and face so we didn’t do anything. I did order a few things online for co my hubby. Was contagious so no friends and family. Looks like you had a fabulous time in Tennessee. Wishing you and family many blessings. tfs

Hi Lorraine! That's wonderful that you spent Christmas with your Mom and sister last year. It's so nice when we can be with family. I sure missed our normal gathering - especially our son - so we were thrilled that Justin and Anissa were able to come a little bit after Christmas. Unfortunately, they aren't able to make it out this year - but we are going to see our son in a couple of weeks. He's on tour and they are going to be in Knoxville for a day off and then in Nashville - so we are driving 3 hours each way to see him in Knoxville and then we are going to bring my mom to see him in Nashville. In 2023 we opened our presents at home then went to my parents for lunch plus opened presents then went to his parents for supper and opened more presents there. Your Christmas pages came out pretty.

My dad passed about 20 years ago- so I can relate to missing them for sure. - My mom is 92 - in fact, I am in the hospital room with her right now...so I don't know how many more Christmases we will have together - so this one was a treasure for me. Hi Barbara! I'm glad you liked seeing our family and friends. We used to mainly host Christmas for both sides of our family in CA - so it was definitely a much more quiet Christmas for us. It was so nice to see our son and daughter-in-law. Miss them tons. That's so thoughtful to keep extra food on hand in case someone stops by. That's awesome that you love to cook and bake during the holiday! I keep saying that I am going to learn how to ice sugar cookies - but haven't gotten to that yet. We are going through some awful times with health right now - my mom is in the hospital again - and my husband is having stitches removed from a surgery today and having another biopsy - so please continue to keep us in your prayers. Hi Rana! Love your Christmas pages of your Family, friends, and your beautiful Christmas tree filled with gingerbread ornaments. Many years ago, I made gingerbread ornaments out of paper bags and decorated my work place Christmas tree. It turned out so pretty but not as beautiful as your Christmas tree. Your tree looks gorgeous! Last year we celebrated Christmas at 3 different places. The first was at my sister's house, then at my daughter's in-law's house, and lastly at my house. We like to stretch Christmas season for as long as we can. I baked lots of cookies and gave them to our friends and family and I also ate too many of them! 😅 😂 tyfs, Hugs 💗 Blessings 🥰

Hi MJ! Thank you so much for letting me share about our last Christmas. Your gingerbread ornaments sound AMAZING! Do you still use them on your work Christmas tree? I'd love to see them! Everything you make is amazing! Almost all the ornaments on the gingerbread tree are handmade.- it took me several years to make them. Each year, I try to add some new things to it. Hi sweet friend Hope you are doing well despite everything you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you. So happy you are creating which will be some ME therapy which is what I call it now. I absolutely love everything you shared today about your first Christmas in TN in your new home. Your pages are special memories of the time you had with family and friends. Plus, the gorgeous decorating you did. You cease to amaze me. I am definitely determined to get my strength back to do my house more in the Christmas 🎄 spirit with my decorating. I have layed low because of my health. I will get that holiday cheer if you keep sprinkling it on me. Chris and I spent Christmas alone. We did go to candlelight Christmas eve service at church. So we could be with church family. We just ate food at home and yummy desserts. On Christmas Day we started a tradition of going to Starbucks for coffee. It is really the only thing open in our town. It is fun to sit there and chat together. We take a photo for a memory. We always make a holiday special even if it is just the two of us. Good morning, JanetKay! Thank you for taking the time to listen to our Christmas story. I am really enjoying documenting our memories. I need to keep it up - I always flip through the pictures in my phone - but that just isn't the same as crafting with them for me. I will keep sprinkling Christmas on you from now until Christmas! I bet I craft something for Christmas every week - LOL! You are going to get your Christmas spirit back and strength back - just one day at a time. My mom is still in the hospital and I am fighting to keep her out of rehab - it's such a struggle. I broke down in tears yesterday. Todd is getting his stitches out today and then having another biopsy. They did a biopsy of several ulcers in my mom's stomach yesterday. I hope to get the wind back in my sails soon - and pray that this health nightmare ends soon - I know God never gives me more than I can handle with Him - so I need to lean into His strength more because I am tapped out. How neat that you went to Candle Light Christmas Eve Service and Starbucks! You always find a way to make every day special - I don't know how you find so many wonderful things to do - and adventures to go on. I hope that one day I can do that too with where we live. Praying that you are continuing to heal. Love and hugs!
