Those chugs that you hear during the breakdowns are the guitars and the bassist doing what is called palm mutes which makes the really deep chuggy sound and the drummer keeps the pace riding with the guitars and that's the essence of a breakdown

This is a great one man! Honestly this whole damn CD was pretty amazing! I remember picking it up for super cheap at Hot Topic back in the day when it came out because the case was damaged. Definitely recommend checking out the rest of this album!
