Safe travels Kaye to phase 2 of your Late Bloomer adventure! I love your spirit. Years ago I moved my best friend from central california to eastern pennsylvania. I drove every mile in a 71 stickshift chevy pickup with a camper shell and pulling a u-haul. Everything she had was in there including her five year old daughter, a Cujo looking rottweiler cross dog (Willie), and a couple firearms. We KOA'd all the way. Memorable!!

Congratulations on your move, Kaye! I've been thinking of moving to TN as well from upstate NY. I'd like a greenhouse or high tunnel for year round gardening and not dealing with mountains of snow every winter! Best of luck and looking forward to hearing how things are with you in your new place.

You totally should! It's a lovely place to live. You won't get much snow here and I'm sure you'd get a real kick out of the people getting hysterical over 3 flakes of snow and Lord help us if it actually sticks to the ground😂😂😂

I wondered where you were Kaye.Hoped like heck you were safe and well.You look amazing for having driven so long and under such stressful circumstances.Those big trucks seem very threatening when one is in a small car.The journey is almost over as far as the travel.Now we pray the property you get will be perfect for you.Keep safe

I live south of Dallas. I've driven in New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia and other large cities. Dallas is the worse. The freeway construction is never-ending and I ALWAYS get lost in Dallas. I now avoid driving in the center of the city and take more time to drive an easier way if I need to get somewhere. I've driven that road between Dallas and Memphis, then on to Knoxville and the east coast. Solid trucks all the way. I'm glad you made it safely. My son lives in Knoxville so I'll be making that trip again whenever I go see him. Moved from Jersey to Texas a year and a half ago. I know you'll love Tennessee.

Glad you made it to TN safely Kaye I was thinking about you. Yes I think all the interstates now have too many big trucks...I know here on I44 it's bad. Hope the last leg of your trip goes well and especially the look at your new place.. hope it's everything you are wanting. Take care...safe travels.

Trains whistle through crossings for safety reasons. In an urban area it seems like they are whistling all the time but there are crossings without bars or the bars may not come down so they honk. I live in a suburb of Detroit and every morning I hear the train whistle and it seems weird when I don't hear it. It just becomes part of the background sounds. Good luck on your new home.

Tennessee and Arkansas are my favorite states. Living in Texas now. But we’re moving permanently to our place in Arkansas as soon as we can retire. We’re in love with crisp mountain mornings.

Thank you Nancy what’s your garden look like now? I’ve got a few days and we could meet for a cuppa tea or something perhaps. Send me an email I think you have my address
@nancysueleske78193 жыл бұрын
I do have your address, but we had a temperature that knocked most annuals a few weeks ago and just last night a good sheet of ice on the bird bath so now the garden hose is in. It has been warm over all. Greens in the cold frames. You are a step up from me. I grow 6B zone. A very mild winter forecast due to El Nina. I hated that the bees lost most of their food but the Zebrina hollyhock flourished and we are eating parsley, chickweed, arugula with a few beets, carrots and turnips producing.

Hell Kaye, I was wondering where you were, especially since I know you are traveling and on the move. Glad you got thru Dallas safely. ☺️ Linden hides from you because she probably doesn’t care for car rides? God keep you safe in your travels Kaye as you continue your path towards home. Until next time take good care. 😉💗

Train engineers are required to use their horn at every crossing, five times, three long and two short, Federal Regulation. There are post markers ahead of crossings to alert the engineer of upcoming crossing. There is an event recorder recording everything going on. Like the black box on planes. Even with all the horn blowing, people still think they can beat the train. A train can't stop like a car, no matter how much the engineer may try. Appreciate the train's blasting horn. It is for our protection. People tend to get distracted while driving, like learning about miracles 😏🤓😆. I asked an expert - my husband.

Memphis, Egypt: The city from which ours in Tennessee got its name. “Memphis” is actually the Greek adaptation of “Men-nefer,” meaning “enduring and beautiful.” The Egyptian city was capital of ancient lower Egypt around 3000 BC. The Tennessee city was named for its relation to the river.

Where I was in Memphis was very beautiful and I suppose that could be deceiving because I don’t know about crime..

And my friend corrected me that house was actually built in 1955. I was surprised because it has wider hallways wider doorways but it was built by the person who lived there and they are going to keep that for when they get older and they have to be in a wheelchair or whatever they can easily navigate that house
