I have put together and use a modern version of this outfit. It works well in tight spaces and low volume situations. The biggest challenge for me is to get a distinct difference in sound between the top head of the floor tom (flT batter) and the bottom head (BD batter). I've come pretty close to what I want through much experimenting with tuning and head choice. Using a pre-muffled head on top and the Evans EMAD on the bottom.
