The driver is not going to hear the door opening on the end of that 53 foot trailer over the sound of his engine, the radio in the cab, and normal cab noises inside a running braked truck. There is no warning lights for door opening on the trailer. On that trailer door is a latch with a lock and a tamper seal. Nothing a thief can't break open very quickly with a set of bolt cutters. Oh you can bet your last dollar he can see that open trailer door in the passenger side view mirror and if he was paying attention he saw the truck behind him as he came to a stop. No load is worth getting shot over and that load has now been compromised as soon as the seal was broken. Not his problem. He can report it at his destination where the Nike employees are not likely to shoot him in the office.
