Lashawn is so blessed! He did so well. He has favor with God. In Clermont, I watched and listen to him coach a young college 400m runner from Lake Sumter college..... it was so nice for him to take 20 minutes to explain running the curve and using your arms

The unfortunate thing about physical sports is that you reach an age where your body can't do what it used to. LaShawn has cemented himself into the history of the sport though so he has no more left to prove.

That's what I keep saying about Shelly. Age will bite you in the ass. I hate to see any of them slow down but I've lived through my 30's and something happens. It sucks but that's when you find a new slower rhythm to life and enjoy.

Then Bruce Jenner's whole family had custom made Yellow T-Shirts with Black letting at the 1975 USA/USSR meet - that said "Go, Jenner, Go!" The gave me the last one, cos when I asked them where they got them. I wanted to buy one! They had one left over, and gave it to me. It was so nice of them. I still have it, autographed by then Bruce, as he had just broken the Deca world record for the first time.

And Montgomery failed to make it out of the heats because he coasted and Merritt took the final spot from him….. I don’t think he would have qualified for the individual 400m, but making the Semis or finals would have given him a chance at snagging a relay spot for the heats at the Olympics

Norman is so blessed. He did so well. I love the fact that he is a blend of Japanese and Afro-American because that is similar to Wayde Van Niekerk who is also a descendant of all three groups: Asian, African and European. Maybe they have hit on a winning formula. (Just kidding!) It was good for me to see Ross beaten because after the NCAA's he was considered to be the best thing since sliced bread. They claim he had a "tough lane draw" although the previous heat was won by the outside runner, Godwin, who also was in the NCAA's and finished out of the finals so he did not get the chance to beat Ross there.
