@alomtz4359Ай бұрын
I dot understand why people think that talking about one thing would diminish the other, bad things happen to both genders and we both deserve compassion and love, I’m a girl I have a lot of guy friends and is easy to talk about feelings and fears with them, women complain a lot about being objectified but some times I think women also don’t see men as people, I don’t know what they want
@lexxplay4515Ай бұрын
@@alomtz4359 Well the reason it simple. The society nowadays became too soft and made a lot of mistakes, where the old society would woop our asses right away. A lot of mistakes were done in these years. And all it did was splitting the society in half and creating a "civil-war" type of behaviour. Men and women are still dating. But dating nowadays is not that how it was 15-20 years ago. I remember reading that some women said "They will only date men who will earn over 150,000$ per month"...wtf... I am not saying that every woman is like that. NO. But these kind of women are getting more and more and it is not normal. Society has to find a way to rebuild itself to a normal and good form. @HotaruGlaiveАй бұрын
@@lexxplay4515 That isn't it completely. I don't think those women are getting more normal in reality (the ones who put a $$ on a relationship), I think it's more that people like you are going online too much and not interacting with real people. I think that is becoming more normal sadly. If it were not true, nobody poor would marry or date and that happens daily. Everyone talks about the "good old days"... until they have to give up the internet, their car, and their favorite fast food restaurant. But the issue is more that people, even men, are playing The Victim Olympics and think if something negative comes out about their lives currently, it negates everyone else and we should ignore others who have mental health or societal problems. Seems like most people have a severe case of main character syndrome. I think if a person has symptoms of depression (as it seems from this video), then they need to see a therapist.

When he talks about the jobs, Two points: 1. People can't find jobs because they aren't taking the jobs that don't pay them enough for their life. 2. Jobs can't find people because the job they're offering is actually 2 or more jobs in one
@didgeridonotАй бұрын
Also many jobs are so grossly focused on academics (i say this with a masters) that it's closing doors for otherwise teachable people who would do well without needing a degree. Overall men are not succeeding in or attending college at the rate women are. Physical jobs typically taken by men with no education requirement are becoming more scarce especially as technology improves, leaving men with more limited ways to make a good living
@GurojiАй бұрын
@didgeridonot couldn't agree more, having OJT instead on learning in school can work in most places. Sure, the initial quality of job entrants will be low, but it gives the opportunity for men(and women) to try multiple things first instead of locking into a for year degree. This could also benefit the company because they could train ground up men that decide they like the field they chose This also provides a sense of accomplishment, journey and fulfillment for man. It world be something akin to a trades job apprenticeship but applicable to any job field
@didgeridonotАй бұрын
@Guroji there will always be some jobs where formal education is critical. But now they hardly want you to work at a retail store without a degree. I only have a masters of science because my career requires it. Thankfully I had enough privilege to go and proper support. Even if you wanted the degree to get into a field many can't bc of the insane time internships take out of your schedule and limit your ability to work. I think education needs to basically blow up until things get better. An educated society is great for everyone, but the cost to outcome ratio is so bad that it's more like indentured servitude than is opening doors And with companies increasing profit year after year by providing the bare support, they aren't willing to spend time and money to train candidates. They just want to complain that "no one wants to work"

Working 45 hours a week, with a depressed mother and an absent father, I have no time for anything. I drive 40 minutes to help my mother with chores around the house and try to support her. My mom and dad used to hit me as a child, and now I'm the one supporting them. Oh, and let’s not forget the high rent, with no money left at the end of the month. Life is really great right now. People tell me I'm apathetic, but maybe I'm apathetic because thinking about my emotions just kind of sucks. Sorry, just needed to rent a little. EDIT: I didn’t expect such nice words from you, bros. But maybe I came off a bit one-sided. I was honestly a pretty bad son during my teenage years-partying every weekend, not helping my father with the house, playing video games most of the time, and not really focusing on school. My mom had a rough marriage with my dad, and I think that’s when her depression started. It got a lot worse after her two dogs passed away, and now she doesn’t really leave the house anymore. So yeah, I’m definitely going to stay and keep helping her, even though I sometimes feel like I could be doing more, but I just don’t know how. I’m convinced that talking to someone about my problems would help me tremendously, but I just can’t bring myself to ask for help or open up to people. The two times I tried, it didn’t really end well (they were my last two girlfriends). I’m not suicidal or depressed; I actually enjoy my time at my PC, watching KZbin to shut my brain off, or working out. So thanks again for the kind words, and keep grinding, boys.

Pre watch hot take: There are two kinds of power. Hard power and soft power. Soft power is the 72 year old lady that runs the HOA. She has a ton of power and authority to impact your life. Hard power is beating someone to death. Soft power only works as long as people believe in the system. To believe in the system you have to benefit from the system. Young men are not benefiting. Also, young men have a near complete monopoly on hard power. If you want to know what a country will do in the near future, look at what the young men of that country want. The government can either use their soft power to give them a bit of what they want, or the young men will take what they want with their hard power. Young men checking out of your system and your society should be setting off major alarms.

@shady8099Ай бұрын
The problem isn't as simple as "higher taxes every year" it's BAD taxes that are also placed on the wrong group of people. The social security tax for example is regressive and it's not avoidable until you make over 2 million dollars a year. This tax syphons money from the largest (population wise) income group, people making less than 100,000/year, but yet it doesn't yield the value it takes out in return. So we have essentially a tax on people who can't afford it being given less in return than they paid for that tax, but it benefits those who are wealthy by subsidizing the health industry and allowing shareholders to increase wealth.. Then, we have corporate taxes being cut from a progressive structure to a flat tax, if it's not obvious this doesn't yield benefits to small-medium business, it also doesn't give better wages or better prices on products because the companies would rather pocket the difference to post better earnings. And why shouldn't they? If you have an industry motivated by profit you're going to maximize this profit, but it's the governments job to make sure this is done in a way where it is better for society, and they aren't doing that. I could go on, but this is the natural result of policy that is based on short-termism and political grandstanding instead of logic and reason. Trump's tax cuts, like the bush tax cuts, both created a speed run for the richest among us to increase their wealth while the burden was on the poorest among us.

I really empathize with guys who find themselves in this position. Even as a licensed therapist with three degrees, I'm struggling financially. Ever since changing careers from pursuing classical music, my life has been just awful. Depression, grieving, anger issues - I kept going, got a degree in social work, got a license, but I am barely functioning. I would rather just let everything go, live in subsidized housing, and play games all day. But I made a promise to my mom who passed in september that I would keep going, keep pushing forward, and live life with more intention. To be a whole person. And I do genuinely love being a therapist, I love helping others, and helping other guys who go through this is one of my specialties. So, there's a light at the end of the tunnel, but I honestly have never seen it myself... but others in my life have seen the light. So, yeah, day by day I guess.

42, married, work 40+ hours a week, exhaused, depressed, living in a tiny house in my parents back yard, cant afford an apartment, wife constantly complaining about everything but wont get a full time job but at least cleans and cooks. Think about just going on disability or just wandering off into the woods every day. Any hope of it ever getting better? Nope.

Going on the whole 'original sin'. I think the most maddening is when you think about it. For example, you said "being told that if your grandfather or great-grandfather had advantages..." My great-great-grandfather died in war. My great-grandfather died in a world war too. My great-grandmother lived to over 95 years. My grandfather spent most of his life in the mines. Now his body is a mess and he constantly go to hospital. My grandmother is happily enjoying her retirement and arguably healthier than my father.

Women have always had it easier. This idea of male privilege is just hatred for men dressed up in an intellectual idea.

Goddamn. This really, REALLY hit home for me. Life just honestly feels pointless anymore because there are no longer any roads that lead to success. It’s no longer “if I work hard I can work my way up and be successful one day”, it’s “if I work hard I’ll keep my job and next week will be exactly the same as this week and the week before that.” The crushing monotony and drudgery has increased tenfold since COVID, and it’s only getting worse with each passing year. My wife is the only reason I keep going every day. We don’t even want kids because why would we bring kids into such a dystopian hellscape of a world? It’s just horrible. I play more video games now than when I was younger because I just need to escape from this existence.

The problem lies in how unappreciated men have become. We are the backbone of society, yet are individually treated like we're evil. Women use us, just to turn around and replace us with another man as if we didn't exist. We can't share our feelings openly without judgment and resentment. We're expected to be strong and provide, all so that a woman can wake up one day and decide to leave and take everything. I've had my reset button slammed on me twice by girls who I was intending to marry, all because there was another contestant lined up. My sister calls it bad luck, but it's just the norm. I gave up on dating, it's a waste of time, money, and effort.

My family often asks me if I’ve met a girl and I tell them I can’t afford it in today’s economy and it’s completely true but no one under 50 will understand that. Having entered the work force a couple years ago, I feel like this is one of the very worst times economically to live and I got stuck being born in this unfortunate time line
@MySimDiedАй бұрын
This is the part of the problem. Why are you the "backbone of society"? Because you said so? Women are equally important to society. Also if we take away men and women, and look at individuals, a typical individual man does no more for society than a woman does, less in most cases when you factor in her higher reproduction value. You talk like you're all out there building roads and houses and that's simply not true. Men work office jobs the same as women and are no more important to that office than the woman is.
@davidbai3543Ай бұрын
@@MySimDiedcorrection, women work office jobs, but men do office jobs AND all the other hard shit. It’s true that women have reproductive value, which makes them the heart of society, but men are literally the backbone that keeps everything else together. Women can’t raise children if the men aren’t there to keep our infrastructure in tact. Also women are increasingly not wanting children, so their reproductive value is lessened if they are not reproducing. Both sexes are Important, but only one is constantly vilified and told they are trash while the other is constantly praised for whatever they do and society treats them like perfect angels.
