i really enjoyed mib3, i thought the stuff about will smith in 1969 was mentioned long enough because after about 5 minutes it didnt really matter. I actually thought the 3d was quite good. it was better than what I have seen before (which isnt really saying much). i think on this occasion that Dr K is being too harsh to mib3.

I completely agree with Mark in the fact that the best way to move forward with this franchise is to get Tommy Lee Jones out of the picture. They should find angles and new storylines. The world of MIB seems interesting enough that they shouldn't stick to a single formula.
@jd89912 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on that Men in Black 1 and Josh Brolin's impression of Tommy Lee Jones is a very good rendition. As for Men in Black 2 I found that it was a good follow up to the original. Granted that I was 13 at the time and didn't have much cinema knowledge but I thought it was a good film. Though I have not rewatched for a few years my opinion may change.

Seems a bit backwards really, he's still seeing the film. If the 3D is added as an after thought (not filmed in 3D) then it surey it should be fairly obvious that it's not going to add anything to the film as a whole.
@Rhubba12 жыл бұрын
The Doc mentions the 3D in passing, it's clear the timeslot for the review is coming to and end and besides he's already covered in a number of other videos why he thinks 3D used in every other film isn't effective or adds to the movie watching experience so if you're familiar with his other reviews then you'll be able to understand why he mentions the MiB3 3D in a brief and cursory way.

The film’s writing & direction don’t live up to his supposed expectations, however the film’s still funny, well acted, stylish & effective. (69%) (3.5/5 stars) (positive)
@bolshevi3187 Жыл бұрын
69%? 3.5/5? Just say positive, even though I could clearly see that from the first sentence. Review scores have always been a load of bull. Ok it’s 3.5 stars, but as always the question is… why? Expand? Anyway. Who am I to say anything

3D used to be a tool used by the movie/cinema industry to say "yes you could watch the film of your TV at home. However, come to us and you can see it on our amazing 3D screen." Now we have 3D televisions so making 3D films to get people into cinema theatres is pointless. Hopefully directors and producers will learn this and abandon 3D because it's a costly addition that doesn't add to the experience and doesn't increase ticket sales like it was intended to do in the first place.

1st movie is one of my favourite movies of all time. 2nd movie as unnecessary and disappointing. 3rd film was better but I don't see me actively watching it again.

The plot for men in Black 2 would have worked if it was the last film made in the franchise and deliberately playing on past glories, the fact that it followed right after the first meant that the impact of Tomy Lee Jones was lost

0:11 ... 19th century was from 1800-1899... 20th century was 1900-1999... 21st century, which is the century we are in now.. is 2000-2099... if you think about it, it makes sense.... once 2100 comes, 21 centuries will have passed, so it cant be the 21st century, its thee beginning of the 22nd century... majority of people get this mixed up... cuz they look at the first two digits of the year

Well, the time for that would have been two movies ago. The MiB tv series was really, really good. At least the first season. It got a bit goofy after that. It's no Netflix. I consider that the only worthy sequel to the series.

MIB 1 = great fun, awesome song. 2 = dreadful cash in and makes no sense. 3 = much better than I think it gets credit for. A worthy sequel to the first one, despite a pretty preposterous fight on the rocket at the end. Its good fun though.

Men in Black 1 is very good. Funny, cool, with enough interest to last multiple viewings. MIB2 terrible. MIB3... Mm, I'll just rewatch MIB1. I will say this though Josh Brolin as a young Tommy Lee Jones fantastic casting. His voce and mannerisms is pitch perfect. Will probably watch it for him.
