Wow, I think too much religious beliefs are pulled into. Masturbation is a normal, healthy thing.. Each person is different and has to evaluate their beliefs. Their values and what sexually appeals to them. It's just not a box you put up on the shelf and then bring out when you want it

I know one of these guys personally. I think they have it wrong. A guy should not be helping himself to himself. With my wife, she has gotten better at pleasing me in the way they are talking about. I don't touch myself like that anymore. If my wife doesn't feel like having intercourse, she is able to handle me in a way that keeps us close and doesn't have me taking care of me. Sometimes I have the itch, and she doesn't, so again, if I communicate with her, she can offer help. This allows me to be close to her. Me taking care of my own needs is me pushing away my wife. We don't want separation, we want unity and closeness.

Apart from a personal trauma of any sort, your conflict is with your religious beliefs about masturbation creating an issue that's not there.

Obviously this is totally geared around religious beliefs. I would like to see this conversation on your marriages and sex in another twenty years. Sex does not have to have orgasm it is a connection in many different ways. What about husbands and wives masturbating together. When men especially are young, it's all about them getting off not pleasing their partner. I think as you get older and learn more about sex and get educated. It's about pleasing your partner More than yourself there's a sexual high on that seeing them enjoying themselves. But if you don't like yourself or can't please yourself. You're never gonna please somebody else.. Obviously, this discussion is very christian based which is nice if you have those total beliefs. I don't feel like a lot of your things are realistic though. Sex should be discussed and educated as people are young. It should not be a dirty, sinful, nasty, guilty thing Which religion can make. But at least you're opening forums for discussion on sex instead of hiding it away. So I have to give you a lot of credit for that. I don't know if I really agree with most of your content though. Ultimately authentic connection is what most people want even though sex and orgasm are generally substitutes for connection which explains why people experience emotional voids and dissatisfaction when there isn't that authentic connection during sex. Also, the wife needs the opportunity to practice sex so that HER needs are also met. Meet her halfway in the discovery and enjoy the journey together. Consider not circumcising your boys if you're expecting one because it disrupts the natural rhythm of gentle lovemaking between a man and a woman and how sex was designed to be. Circumcised men generally move at a different pace and require more friction which can be uncomfortable for the woman. Men who are used to masturbating are likely used to a "death grip" especially if they are circumcised, whereas a vagina is very gentle and loving.
