M-14 is not a WWII weapon but your right. In 1965 the M-16 was not the standard rifle. It was'nt until 1966-67 that the M-16 replaced the M-14. So in 1965 you would find in a typical marine platoon you would find the M-14, M79 and M-60. To why Actual has a Thompson I don't know.

I love how this game shows the envolvement of the war 1st the USMC uses UH-34D Seahorses,M14 and later they uses M16A1,UH-1D Gunships

WW2 weapons were used because they had a massive stockpile of them and were still producing enough M16 so they can equip them with a Assault rifle meant to combat infantry. The WW2 weapons are still good though besides a weapon is a weapon.

Barbatos DoesAnything also the marines do more with less and are not equipped with the best equipment proving their skills in battle. As the army got all the new equipment same thing in ww2 marines were using 1903 sf rifles and m50 resigns as army had m1 grands and Thompson’s marines did not get the equipment until after guadacanal campaign as for Vietnam I think they got m16 in 66 or 67 can’t remember.

It also depends the time period.In the 50s and early 60s there were US military advisers in Vietnam that don't look like the soldier many think of when they think of the Vietnam war and all of them used ww2 weapons.From 1965 to 1972 is when the US started send ground troops and stuff.There were many changes in uniforms, weapons, strategies, technology, and much more during that time frame.Later in the war No one used WW2 weapons anymore and its when everyone started using m16s.Its the time period most people think of when they think of the war.

@@amodsinyan.2151 During the Vietnam war the Marines actually had the superior flak jacket (it had ceramic disks as well as ballistic fiber weave, the army only had the fiber). The Marines were a major part of the forces meant to actually engage the VC so they were comparatively well supplied compared to the marines of past conflicts. Certain firearms, such as the M1/2 carbine were all over the place for a few reasons - the US supplied them to the ARVN (the ARVN for a while was actually using the Garand as their standard rifle), but before that it's what the French carried (also supplied by the US) during their war and even before THAT you'll see early NVA and VC use carbines and thompsons because that's what THEY were supplied when the US was supporting the Viet Minh in WWII.

to answer his question about why the soldiers were using WW2 weapons is because the US had alot of them and the VC was given WW2 weapons by the other comunitst counties like the Soviet Union and today the US still uses a WW1 weapon and the same during WW2

Are you kidding me, due to the tropical conditions of Vietnam, Napalm was the standard CAS loadout besides 500lb retarded bombs. When a ground unit called in a CAS mission the standard A-1 and F-100 loadouts were "Snake and Nape" in reference to 500lb GP bombs and Napalm

I very like this game. This was second game I loved Unreal Engine 2, first was Unreal 2 Awakening i love graphicis from games 2002-2007 (SOF2, RTCW, MOHA AA and PA, COD2, NOLF 2, AVP2, FAR CRY) Men Of Valor - have great tropical vegetation, nice missions and great Vietnam feelings, bad things - poor sounds of weapons, stupid AI and corridor levels.

The Vietnam war was the conflict in which journos were the most free to do what they pleased - if they could talk an officer into letting them hump a patrol with his unit then they could. The amount of 'war tourism' was insane, though they're all up their own asses about it these days and don't realize the pronounced effect they had on the conflict and on views of the conflict. Nor do they see how their own behavior could be seen as callous. I would much prefer a 'free' environment to a heavily censored one, though. If the truth provokes ant-war sentiment, perhaps the war should be ended.
