To anyone who followed the video through and found that their squads stand still and do nothing, you need to spawn units place them in squads, give them waypoints, triggers etc all in the F3 menu rather than the F2 (map editor) one. If you don't do this and you load or save the file it won't retain the scripting that can be linked to the work you did in the F2 menu and your troops won't go anywhere. You'll have to do everything from spawning to coding in the F3 one for it to work and be saved successfully.

for those still playing and watching this. It seems to work just fine without the condition. When I deleted the condition nothing changes. The entities condition looks at the state of the unit, for example, it can be used to spawn troops if a number of your other troops have died and only then the reinforcement kicks in. But for this, you do not seem to need it.

Hi stealth bomber, I tried doing this with zombies but they don't seem to move at all. They spawn in a cluster and just stand there. I tried experimenting with other units and managed to get a squad of spec ops to move through the waypoints, not sure how, but I did exactly as you've instructed. Also, whenever I load my map, the AI control on my friendly units is always switched back to AI instead of user, so my vehicles and all move by themselves, any idea how to lock it? The way points and triggers also seem to disappear after every load

how do i add a delay to the attack because when i add a delay before the waypoint command they just don't spawn also can i bring the map edge fog forward so people can't just see the enemy spawn from no where. thanks

***** ok it kind of works. I want a one off delay of about 5 minutes so the player can setup defences, then after the 5 mins i want each attack to come every 30 secs or so. How would i do that?

***** Easy. Set up an event. Place a timer that goes for five minutes, and place that event at the end of the timer command. Add a new command and give the condition of the event you created. Have the commands follow with spawning the enemies, and give a delay between them for whatever time you need.

Is it possible to limit the amount of soldiers coming into the map? I have everything working perfectly fine but they just keep pouring in to the amount that its not really balanced anymore? It works for me, however the troops spawn sometimes without their helmets or their weapons holstered when "weapon_prepare" is set to "on", but turning that option to "-" seems to fix the problem in my case. I used this tutorial for MOWAS 2 and with the Cold War mod.

How would I go about using this in multiplayer with a friend, and having endless waves on our team? I've got it set up as a combat mission, but whatever I do, both German and Soviet waves are hostile to us. I have tried to change the player that they're set as, and the diplomacy settings and all that stuff and it's still screwed

Yea thats because its impossible to set the AI on an ally team in mulitplayer. In single-player its all fine and dandy but multiplayer its impossible unfortunately. You can only have the AI as an enemy. The only way to fix this would be to mod the game mode in the files and make the AI switch to a team that a human player is on, but when it comes to something like that, I would have no idea on how to even go about that. Sorry

try linking the waypoints. to do this, delete all your old waypoints and put down a new one where the first was. then, select the waypoint and place down another while the first is selected. this will link them together. do this until the path is complete.

For anyone wondering, it's easier to do this just using the reinforcement options and making the 'wave' in question cost very little and giving the player getting them a ton of reinforcement points.

So I tried to make a column of tanks move down the road, but their movements were very jerky, and most of the time they would fall out of formation and go off the road. In some cases, they would stop for around 10 seconds before continuing their path. Any idea what's causing this?

Sorry I have another question, I did your tutorial, and now a halftrack is coming to a specific point 5 times and then they emit the units, but the problem is that the units emit already before the halftrack reached the destination. I know already why because mine units are dead where the haldtrack is riding, so they emit to "investigate" it. Do you know how ti fix that? so they just only emit when the halftrack reached his destination.

trenches600 When ur in the editor, then press f3. then click on entiti. there you can find -fauna, -humans and so on. Now clck on -humans and choose ur troop and place him on the map. After you have done it click on ur troop, then the circle appears on ur troop. I hope that helped you :)

For some reason when i go to entities and put down the zone, and start the game up, theres no units that continuously spawn. But, when i take out the zone so i just have the way point in which the unit would go to/spawn at, it works out fine, I don't know if theres an issue with that, i did everything else you did in the video but i took out the zone for the entities condition and it worked out fine :P

Hey thanks for the tutorial! I'm trying to make a Tarawa mission with friendly troops supporting my assault un the beach. Problem is that they lie down in shallow water which looks like they are diving and do not andvance! I've alredy tried to fix it in the actors behaviour but they still lie down and do not move if there is an enemy in sight :( any suggestions?

+David R.C. (drcyamato) Its already in the game. you go to local disk c, programs files (86x), steam, steam apps, common, MOWAS2, then to mowas2_ed or it will be mowas2.exe. This is if you buy it off steam and that folder will open up the GEM editor.

I could not achieve anything using this procedure, sorry. I was able to spawn waves using the 'loop' command inside triggers: create a loop and inside it (use the 'add inside' option) set the 'actor to waypoint', 'delay', etc. parameters. And in the 'approach' option select 'force' instead of 'teleport & rotate'. Maybe I could not grasp something of your explanation, but even following it step by step it just didn't work.

Add units when you are in the Mission editor under the entity tab, then it should work. I had the same problem like some here, but i was adding units in the map editor and that was the problem for me.

Hello there, I don't even know if this tutorial actually works with MOW AS2 but I did try it there and when I saved the game in order to try it the next day, when I log back into the game every waypoint and everything else I did just deseperate. It might be because the map your editing is compressed in a .pak file. So you would need to extract it. At least that was why mine wouldn't save the changes i made to the map.

Yea you can, but it can only be done by making a mod for it. The multiplayer automatically sets up your units that you can buy, that needs to be changed in the files for men of war and then add in only a few that you want.

Try and look at my video while loops and if commands. You can also add in an entity_state and put those units that spawn on a hidden tag so it pretty much deletes them.

Best way to do it. Is add in another separate trigger and add a condition stating any of the following. An event, or killed certain # of entities. Then add in the commands by a entity state command. Add in a hidden tag or put on inactive so that way the unit will stop spawning.
