No, its part of french bullfighting. There is the tradional "course camarguaise" but around this there is a lot of game with bull where everybody can participate... For example the put a little pound in the middle of the arena and the public have to put the bull inside (taureau piscine) Or even sometime games take place directly in the street

I actually ran with the bulls in Moita, Portugal fall of 2001. You don't have to tell me how stupid that was. Not one of my proudest moments. I remember looking back and seeing a native dude stop to tie his shoe. I remember thinking how incredibly dumb that was (considering I was running from bulls in that moment the, the irony of "dumb" wasn't lost on me) to stop and tie a shoe. Of all things! Looked back again and all i remember seeing is the dude spinning in the air head over heels like a rag doll. If you have some sort of masochist notion and want to put running with the bulls on your bucket list - DON'T!!! It's terrifying and not worth whatever rush you get from it.
