"If you got a Kenyan vest on you, you gotta be good" If that ain't true. The most important race as a Kenyan track athlete who wants to be an Olympian is to qualify for Team Kenya to the Olympics in the first place. You will rank top 10 in the world and half a dozen people will beat you in National Championships. (THE Eliud Kipchoge missed the London 2012 Olympics. He didn't finish top 3 in nationals, 10000m. And moved to the roads since) Once you get a slot, you can literally just jog through heats and semis as long as you race smart. And then someone from your village will beat you to an Olympic gold 😂 There are usually more than just 3 Kenyans in these finals. Some ran for Bahrain, USA, Qatar. Especially the steeplechase finals. And marathons
