I went to Ethiopia at this time, and landed there like 1 hour before this exact run. By the time I grubbed my baggage and went out to Addis, the whole town was quite. Everyone staring their eyes to the TV watching this run. It was so epic because people in Ethiopia was tired of Mo getting 3 wins against the Ethiopians since 2012. That’s why Edris mad fun of Mo by making the M sign Mo makes after winning.

One of the best team tactics i have seen. Credit to the Ethiopians. It reminds of the Tactics Eritreans employed against Bekele in the world cross country championships in Mombasa in 2007. Study your opponent and get a plan for it.

@@abhishekab1 the Ethiopians made it hard for Mo to kick early on. Usually, Mo likes to be in the lead 1000 meters to go. Watch when the final 800 bell was run, the lead Ethiopian glanced over his right shoulder to ensure that Eedris was at that point. After that, both led the pace till the final 100 meters...at this point, Mo had to kick early to even stand a chance.. notice Eedris actually accerlerated the last 20 meters after Ko had gassed out

Krypto I came back to this video, as I was telling my co workers today, that Kenyans and Ethiopians run the distance with Tactics. E.g they will build a barrier to block the opponent from getting pass or one running will sacrifice winning to let his fellow countrymen win. No crab in a barrel mentally when they running. You have to do things throughout the race and hope for the best. It's entertaining to watch for sure if you understand how racing works like in this video.

It actually is a jog for them. Farah in his Pb of 12:53 for the 5000 m keeps a pace of 2:31 per km. And that's only the 35th best all time.

I agree with the fact that their final times are around that pace but the opening 800 m is almost never that fast. People start out and then slowly build up pace. Flat 2:00 for the first 800 m of a 5000m is ridiculous.

This was tactical in the last lap it's not easy to overtake a duo of athletes sprinting together. Is chagelcha and Idris with 300m to finish line.
