here i am, 7 years later, in the middle of the covid19 quarantine, desperately searching how to cut my dad's curly hair (he has almost the same curl as the man in the video, just all white), and i find this gem. thank you so much!

Thanks for watching. How was the haircut for your dad?
@magureatari194 жыл бұрын
@@BeautyHealthTravel it ismuch harder than it looks, that is true. i mostly did the ears, the back and, most impotantly for my dad, the front. and then i made some random shaping for the rest of the hair. my father is happy ^^ as soon as he brushed his hair nothing of the weirder cuts could be seen anyway.

Great job, then! Yes, the hair stretches 40 to 50% of its length when wet. I personally prefer to cut any hair wet, except when it is too curly. If the client still insists on wetting the hair, I cut a little less then they ask, and when it dries, it looks exactly as short as they asked. Well, now your husband has a personal hairdresser! :D

Excellent method! Real straightforward and simple too. My son has curly hair. I have never cut it but I had no choice due to the COVID 19 Lockdown. I went through many videos and in the end, I followed your method. I just cut his hair now and it came out excellent. It was far easier than I expected. I used the finger method, while using the comb for protection around his ears. Thank you for making this video. I have a feeling he will not go back to his barber again.

curly and wavy hair is difficult to cut when it's wet, because obviously your hair loosens up and straightens out, but when it dries its going to be shorter. so you have to be careful not to cut off too much hair,, I have wavy hair and I always get my hair layered. so I can either wear it straight or wavy and also the layers add some volume which I need having fine hair. :)

So I cut his hair a few days ago, and when I wet it down it was completely straight. Boy can I tell you that was frustrating. lol. Apparently I cut it a little shorter than he wanted because of that, but it came out all good overall. The only problem I had was with his hair in the front, if he doesn't gel his hair back he looks like Lloyd from the movie Dumb and Dumber. lmao.

You can cut it shorter to have more control over your hair; no need to cut it all. For frizzy hair, just use mousse; any kind will do. A lot of men use products on their hair to control it. Best of luck!

I've been paying $50 for the barber to ruin my husband's curly hair. They shave the back of his neck way up, trim the sides to nothing, and the result is a very ethnic haircut that neither of us like. I mean... it took me 3 hours to do something you'd most likely achieve in 30 minutes :-D but it doesn't matter, it made sense, was well explained, the final cut looks awesome, it doesn't even look like it was home made. Any help on this would be soooo appreciated!!!
@BeautyHealthTravel6 жыл бұрын
You can do scissors-over-comb to cut the hair closer to the hairline, and then use a regular razor use for shaving to clean the unwanted hair around the hairline. I am a barber and I can use a straight razor, but your son might move his neck and that will make it unsafe. Feather razor will work, too. Best of luck!
