Gents-Following up on this installment an episode on period timepieces would be good. Keep up the good work.

I would like to see a video of 19th or mid - 19th century etiquette for gentleman, as far as clothing to wear and not wear public and privately.

What I would like to see is information about the common dark blue military vest that the Sutlers sale to all the men. I tell folks in my units that it is more of an officers vest and not really proper for enlisted men. I was always taught that the army didn't issue vest so most enlisted wore vest from home and the dark blue ones were often officer vest that they had made since they had to outfit themselves uniform wise anyway. Could you guys cover this in an episode it would help?

So is it improper for a man to show his sleeves or his vest? She says the vest is considered an undergarment but that a gentleman never shows his shirt sleeves in mixed company. But then turns around and says it's completely acceptable to show his vest in the company of men. Kind of confusing, so if someone could clarify what the actual proper etiquette is, that'd be very much appreciated.

From what I can gather, it seems that in more formal settings (Church, Thanksgiving dinner, etc.), and in the company of women you're not supposed to take your coat off. In a more casual setting (camp, at work, etc.) it might be acceptable to remove your coat.
