It is so unbelievable that just one year before, Xu Xin is defeated by Vladimir Samsonov, even got 0:10 in a single round. A year after, Xu Xin beat Vladimir Samsonov , and won the world cup final.

All I hear when Xin wins a point is him shouting, "JONNY!"... and when Samsonov wins a point, "PAUL!" Hahaha xD

well deserved victory for Xu Xin, but it would have been more worthwhile had Ma Long and/or Zhang Jike been playing as well. Xu Xin has yet to demonstrate that he can match those two on the biggest of stages...
@perniciousnc11 жыл бұрын
i think this is a relatively easier final for xx, since technically he is definitely in control, as long as he got his mentality straight, he would have no problem. but it's great that he has got thru these mentality challenge, since if he lost, he would prob dont have many chances again samsonov's return is just insufficient to pose threats to the chinese players. xx can be so comfortable when he got his 2 services. it's amazing that samsonov is still entering the final!! thanks for sharing

Xu Xin has incredible forehand top spin. Perhaps the best I've ever seen, though it's more obvious in other games rather than this one.

Samsonov makes it difficult for Xu Xin to execute incredible forehand top spin.

Does anyone know, why the taller guy, tosses the ball up so high when he serves it?
@ranmanolov683211 жыл бұрын
The tall guy is a legend. His name is Vladimir Samsonov.
@lightstreamboy11 жыл бұрын
The higher the toss the greater the acceleration of the ball on its return to the bat surface.
@AmazingGames199011 жыл бұрын
Thanks for explaining it to me. I'm a tennis player and the toss concept is a bit different with tennis. Usually, you want to avoid having an overly high ball toss when you're serving a tennis ball. There are exceptions to the rule of course but that's why I was a bit confused.

Great efford from Samsi. He's getting up there in age as well. Doesn't seem to have the power of the best Chinese or Europeans.

This match was fun to watch. I probably sound ignorant, especially because I speak English exclusively, but Xu's obnoxiously loud celebration really annoyed me. Maybe I'm just not used to seeing players cheering their opponent's mistakes.
@WhiteWolf-ui9wg10 жыл бұрын
I don't know your level as TT player, but...at that level, you don't just make a mistake, you make it because the oppenent did something well executed just to make you miss, so when you miss the other has complete right to be happy, IMHO.
@emersonsitorus113611 жыл бұрын
Samsonov probably has the worst forehand among table tennis players, but he is also one of the smartest player.
@WhiteWolf-ui9wg10 жыл бұрын
oh c'mon...it's not that bad, it's just sometyhing different from what you like...he has a just perfect classic euro-style forehand, so different from the chinese style that you maybe like. You can like it or not that techcnic, but he is just good. Each of both technic-style has its advantages and disadvantages...

Chinese forehand with sticky rubbers makes the game stale and boring. Looks kinda akward and ugly

Why don't European players also use sticky rubbers on their forehand?
@Galimah11 жыл бұрын
benspin Some of the young ones are, but there is a simple answer to your question. Sticky, hard rubbers are not that fun to play with.
@ngoduybach283211 жыл бұрын

The european players loose against the chinese ones because they are not as moving as the chinese ... not because of sticky rubbers
