Mena’s Story About How This Man Was Trying To Talk To Her In Spanish But She Didn’t Understand

If you try to tell someone, who doesn’t understand English that you want your space and don’t want to talk to them because you don’t understand them and they keep trying to talk to you in their language even though you don’t understand, just get up and walk away.
That’s what I did when this person kept talking to me not understanding that I wanted my space.
Today’s story happened last night when I went out to a restaurant with my mom and one of her friends to have dinner and do karaoke.
It was fun until towards the end when this man sat down and tried to have a conversation with me in Spanish but I had no clue what he was saying.
I politely kept trying to translate in Spanish that I couldn’t understand what he was talking about but he wasn’t listening to me and I kept trying to explain to him using a Spanish English translation on my phone that I couldn’t understand what he was saying but he didn’t listen to me.
He kept invading my personal space and talking to me in Spanish when I wasn’t in the mood to talk and also because I couldn’t understand what he was saying.
I ended up just getting up and walking out of the restaurant and waited outside for my mom and her friend because I didn’t want to talk to that guy only because I couldn’t understand him and I wanted my space.
Once my mom and her friend came out of the restaurant, we ended up leaving and I explained to them why I walked out of the restaurant and they understood because they could see the man trying to talk to me in Spanish and not understanding that I wanted my space.
I was glad that I wasn’t rude to this person.
When someone keeps trying to talk to you in a different language and you don’t want to talk to them because you want your space, the best thing you can do is translate into their language that you want your space but if they still don’t understand, just get up and walk away and don’t say anything.
