Don't forget that Mendelssohn actually rediscovered Bach,studied him and eventually evolved his style in his own time.magnificent!

sry not quite correct... Bach was known also to Mozart/Beethoven and many others. But Mendelssohn was the first one who opened bachs works a wider audience. :)
