I survived a bacterial meningitis when I was 9 years old. I came through without any ailments. The doctors were so surprised and were so confused as how I came through without any major chronic ailments. I decided to find out why. This video makes me feel so lucky and greatful

I had meningococcal meningitis twice, when I was 17 and 21. My 2nd time also ended in a coma but luckily it has not lead to such serious long-term consequences. I have finally found a doctor (after a very long search because barely any doctor has knowledge in this field) who diagnosed me with a complement deficiency (a congenital immunodeficiency) now I'm on medication and hopefully never get it again but I advice everyone to go to an immunologists if they ever had a bacterial meningitis after the age of 5 because I would have loved to know this the first time and not have to experience it a second time especially since it is such a life-threatening disease.

i survived meningococcal septicaemia when i was 2 years old my parents always said if i'd pull through i would be able to have a dog, fortunately as they wished i pulled through and i got a dog.... ...unfourtunately just this week we had to have him put down. to any one out there or any families just know you're not alone at all, i know it can feel like that sometimes but you really are not alone in any shape or form!

I had this when i was 14, within 12 hours of being absolutely ok, the GP said if I don't get to the hospital now, I would be dead in a few hours, I was in hospital for 2 weeks, 1 week was in a coma, luckily I came out with out loosing any limbs or other side effects.

I got bacterial meningitis at birth and had a very slim chance of surviving or surviving without physical or mental disabilities. Luckily, I survived with zero physical health issues & only mild mental health issues.

I developed viral meningitis at 18 in 1978. Went to school with a sore throat from a head cold, within a few hours I was in real trouble.

i had meningitis when i was three from my dad. the date was dec 7 2012. it was the worst bday ever. i couldn’t speak, and walk. it’s was very hard😖

My father have had meningitis 4 different times he has been in the hospital every time he gets bad migraines and completely stiff he can’t see because the lights would make it bad

The daughter of my brother now she's suffering this kind of deasease..there almost 2weeks in hospital in dumaguete but still she didn't recovered😢we came from the poor family and we run out of money for her recovery I hope somebody's help us and God help her also this kind of desease🙏😢😢

Hello. I'm from Panamá. Believe it or not I had meningitis more than twice. No doctor has been able to find the reason of my problem. I have lost a substance we have in the brain, I think it is mieline in the left side of my brain. It was shown by different MRI I have been done. According to some neurologists I suffer small seizures and I've got to take medications for all my life, Lamotrigine. I completed high school and university late, but thanks God I did. My case has been very weird, strange, a mytery here. No doctor understand it. They haven't found the cause and don't know if it can happen to me again. I can say it's a terrible illness. One of the times I suffered it I was in coma for around 21 days. I had to take physical therapy for several months. Greetings from Panamá City.

I had meningitis spring-summer when I was just 7, the first symptoms reaching me was high fever (39.9C), headache, sensibility to light, inability to move and memory loss. The following hour got really scary because I had to go to the falun hospital, I was in the emergency room and was there for 3 years, they treated me with 12 ice-cream, 12 grape juice and they checked my blood, my blood type was O > A > B > AB. When I came home I still could walk but after days, I couldn’t walk again for 1 month?? then the last days I got nose bleed.
