Great video, thank you! You mentioning that you "do it the way your mom did" reminded me of a funny story I think you will appreciate. So for years, my best friend always cut the ends off her roasts prior to putting them in a roaster. It wasn't until many many years later that one day her mom was over and seen her doing this and asked why she cuts the ends off. Her reply was "that is what you did, so I just always do it that way too". Her mom was dumbfounded, she said to her daughter "You do this because I did?" Her daughter said "Yes, I do many things the way you taught me, but have to be honest, I don't understand why you cut the ends off your roasts." Mom said, "I typically don't, I am guessing the reason I did it the day you were watching was because the roast was too big for the roaster, so I cut the ends off so it would fit in the roaster."🤣😂 So for all these years my friend cut the ends off her roasts just "because that's how mom did it"! We often don't ask why we do things the way we do, we simply trust "mother knows best" and continue the tradition. It is my favorite story my gf told me of her family. We were horseback riding at the time & I almost fell off my horse I was laughing so hard!

I just made these this morning. So simple! I made two "errors" when I did mine though. First, I rolled out the dough too thin, probably closer to 1/4" or 3/8" instead of the recommended 1/2", and they were a little squatter than what you'd expect a hamburger bun to be. Second, I didn't have a wide mouth jar lid to cut the buns out of the dough so I used a egg form which I thought was about the same size. Seems it was just a bit undersized so the buns came out a little smaller in diameter than expected. Either way, the buns still came out great, taste delicious, and I got some practice in kneading dough. I feel I'm ready to tackle a bread loaf now! :) It was neat seeing the yeast foam indicating it was still active and then watching the bread rise as I waited the 10 minutes. I knew right then these buns were going to come out good as the recipe had to work just like you said. And it did! I ended up slicing my 2 dozen buns in half and then freezing them. I'm not having burgers today, but I just needed to try the recipe! Thank you for an easy to follow-along video. Cheers!

I made these today to use with leftover Thanksgiving turkey (Canadian Thanksgiving) and they turned out beautifully. Baking these not only made my house smell delicious, it also created a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you for all that you do. You are my inspiration.

These were delicious! The best hamburger buns I’ve ever made. I’ve made a few recipes that never really turned out. These don’t even have egg in them and came out so soft! Just to add: I used 4 1/4 cup flour. Will keep this recipe forever. Also, I love your style in making videos ~ it’s like a dance instead of cut and dry “this is how you do it.”

Thank you for sharing. The new addition looks like it is going well. I'm sure a space that will serve the family well.
