This is what my education is all about: delivering the information to YOU in a language YOU can appreciate. Some Gynaes suggest a laparoscopy to clean up the endometriosis mess followed by inserting a progesterone releasing IUD (Mirena, Kyrena) with an objective to not interupt cycles but to reduce the build up of endo tissues to build up again. Does the product manufacturer get any feedback and take on board on how IUD with tiny bits of progesterone not working as well as their studies presented at the time of being approved by FDA? Or to the gynae just dismisses the feedback and say 'too bad'? Not just contraceptives, women with Endometriosis too need plenty of specialist medical help and consider Mirena after a laparoscopy. So it not just for contraception, it for relief from a agonizing and chronic condition. These Women (1 in 10) are already in mental anguish and physical agony. It's very painful to go to a gynae and turns you down cold in defence of the product.

Suggested it on last visit to gynecologist and he said, endometrosis is worse than cancer and can cripple your life (NICE!) still he never even suggested it first... he also said only way to diagnose is endoscopic surgery. I got a second opinion and another gyn said you can diagnose it based on pain symptoms.. So sick of doctors ignoring this illness and not helping me for so long.. and I really was hoping it would go away with menopause.. :(

Most of them watch but are silent they are afraid people would read their comments and find out they are in menopause. I told them they already know your denial doesn't change that! This woman is only 55 said I finished menopause 5 years go so this doesn't apply to me. I said you are never finished with menopause please do yourself a favor and watch. She is sick and feels old. HRT would help tremendously but I want her to hear it from you a doctor. I had another doctor try to scare me off of Estrogen. Rolling my eyes. It wont happen thanks to you! I have to se a neurologist now I might have MS. Its almost funny the amount of stuff I am going through. But I do feel estrogen helps my tremors. Nobody believes me though. Anyway thanks for the video. Concerned about having endometriosis because though my bleeding stopped from Mona Lisa Touch and also the good news is no more leaking I highly recommend it for that and the doctor said some bleeding is normal every now and then a piece of blood and tissue comes out but with all of my health issues and doctors appointments I don't have time to get into my GYN now. Having seizures and all kinds of fun stuff. UGH! But I am learning from you a lot and I look forward to the next one!

Cheryl, First, welcome aboard ... to "Menopause University"! As with any educational endeavor, to really benefit from this education, you need to start at the very first video and watch them in order. Of course, I know that takes a lot of time, and you probably want answers to your questions much more quickly than you can get them by watching the videos in order, one-at-a-time. But, I have to tell you that these videos give you general information. They are not personalized to YOU. That's what the one-on-one consultations are for. So, if you really want to give yourself what you deserve in this matter, schedule a one-on-one consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. In your situation, there are many details that will come into play with regard to your best options that are not possible to address in this comment box. For instance, there are many different types of "ovarian cancer." They are not all the same with regard to your eligibility to take estrogen. The other factor of great importance is the "Estrogen Window of Opportunity," which I covered in videos 180 - 190. You are probably outside your window ... but that does NOT mean you don't have options. And, in a consultation, we can address the best options for you regardless of whether or not you can take estrogen. I would love to "meet" you, and I do the consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What's App, and the phone. So, I hope I have the opportunity to really help you find your best options. I do respond to comments here on KZbin daily.

It is not hormonal in nature. PLEASE, PLEASE, schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. It is clear that you will benefit greatly from it, and you will be able to manage your endometriosis and your menopause successfully. I do them all online. I hope to meet you and help you.

Dr. Barbie, I know what adenomyosis is, because it was seen on an mri. Is the effect on menopause the same as endo?
@MenopauseTaylor5 жыл бұрын
Are you sure? Adenomyosis is a diagnosis that is made under the microscope by a pathologist AFTER theaters is removed. It's nothing but tiny drops of blood that have become imbedded in the uterine wall. I've never heard of any adenomyosis diagnosis that could be made by MRI. And the effect on menopause is the same as that of endometriosis.
@meshengle1005 жыл бұрын
@@MenopauseTaylorThanks so much for responding! :) I had an MRI with an interventional radiologist (done in 2018) as a prerequisite for uterine fibroid embolization. Will that change my window of opportunity for estrogen when I'm post-menopausal? I'm 39 and I've had perimenopause symptoms for about a year now.
@MenopauseTaylor5 жыл бұрын
Jen, This is something that requires a one-on-one consultation. I'd love to help you, and I can ... a lot. But only with a consultation. There are so many different factors to consider, and that's impossible to do here in this comment box. You can schedule a consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. 2) I would confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I would need all these things at least 1 week before your consultation with me. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points put the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are 25 - 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email at least 24 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed. 6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use. 7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and balance their options. The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got form the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request. So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).

I would recommend that you schedule a one--on-one consultation with me because it's not as simple as you're making it. There are many factors to weigh against one another and not women are alike. I don't "recommend" anything. I teach you so that you can decide what you prefer. And I do that by tailoring all the facts TO YOU. Can a physician tell with an ultrasound or a mri if you have endometriosis or just by your symptoms? Will an ultra sound or a MRI show if you have adhesions??
@MenopauseTaylor5 жыл бұрын
The only way to diagnose endometriosis is to SEE it. That requires surgery, usually laparoscopic, where the doctor inserts a telescope in through your belly button to look at the surfaces near your ovaries. Remember, endometriosis is nothing but little drops of blood implanted where they don't belong. So the do not show up on any kind of imaging study. And adhesions are too fleshy and filmy to show up either.

You see, you are starting to see how illogical things are int h world of menopause. I am so proud of you for recognizing this oddity. And, believe me, you are going to encounter a multitude others. The answer for all of them is the very same: Irrational fear engendered by one terrible study that reported distorted results (the WHI).

Dear Dr Taylor, I have had perimenopausal symptoms since 43 yrs old, breast nipple soreness, tinnitus, BMS, back pain, muscle pain and lately migraines. Now Im 49, and only last month I had irregular period, 2 weeks later from my usual date, and after a week again having period but only spots I have pain on my lower right stomach which sometimes occur during my previous periods. Could it be endometriosis? Can endometriosis hurts only on side of the lower stomach? Thanks doctor

Anything is possible with endometriosis. You should consider having a consultation with me to address your pain. This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. You aren’t going to list some of the things that could happen to the endometriosis in later years? You couldn’t mention scarring, etc? Just going to say “everyone is different?” Just going to drop it? Not going to talk about adhesions on ureters, intestines, or what’s going on with the enlarged red ovary on the side of your model?

I cover endometriosis in great depth in several videos. This was the second of three videos on endometriosis: 138, 139, 140. And there are several more after that ... in the individual units to which they pertain: 429, 431. And eventually (not yet aired): 468. And, if you really want to know everything, as it pertains to YOUR endometriosis personally, you need a consultation. No two situations are the same. You can schedule one at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online. I promise that I will never compromise your education. I will do my very best for you.

Thank you Dr. Taylor for the very informative information! You are so right I remember my first period was awful at 13 yrs old. My cycling endometriosis flares did go away actually during my child bearing years. I had 2 children 3 years apart. During that time my flares went away. Then of course the period and cyclic flares came back. It took doctors almost 30 yrs to diagnose me with endometriosis 😞. Because of my periods lasting 10-15 days. I got a partial hysterectomy in 2008. So I have no menstrual cycles. But I still have cyclic endo flares. So I was actually looking forward to menopause, but is sounds like I will probably have flares for the rest of my life. If I haven’t had a period in 11 yrs and still continue to have flares 😞😞 any thoughts Dr. Taylor?
