Luv Me Sum Rocky Boy In the 70s a unique style of Fancy called Rocky Boy Fancy. Neck Bustle was much smaller with secondary wing feathers. Back Bustle was larger with primary spikes. Was first Fancy to wear kneepads. Very acrobatic!!! In the 80s had the honor to meet and dance with Paul Roughface Ponca. Was in Elder 70+ dancing Straight. His father Dennis in early 1900s was watching a stallion reacting to an incoming storm, leaping rearing galloping prancing jumping around crazy. Dennis emulated the Crazy Dance of the Horse and took it to the People. Later in 1920s-30s the Charleston Ritz outfit and dance moves were added. Sequined skull cap, fringe, Fancy footwork. It then became known as the Fancy Dance. Later to emphasize the Horse of the Dance, Horse Fetlocks or long shaggy hair below the knee and onto the hoof were added. Fancy has come a long way since! Although in 70s into 80s a bit some Fancy Dancers wore KNEE LEGGINGS instead of Goats. They were sort of like bell bottoms below the knee that wrapped around the back and parted open in the front curving back at the bottom while underneath the front part was a matching cover piece. Front part edges and around bottom edges were trimmed with ribbon and they were decorated with applique beadwork or ribbon work.
