If you're worried about keeping white sneakers clean, get some Mr Clean Magic Eraser pads (or the off brand equivalent). It's great for stains on white leather and midsoles/outsoles. Every now and then you can place them in a shallow tray of clean water (maybe with a few drops of clear dish soap) overnight and give them a scrub in the morning. Get spare laces or give dirty ones a wash or soak them in water and oxyclean. For yellowing rubber, apply a creme whitener like SalonCare 40 (available at beauty/hair stores) and set them in the sun for a while. Make sure you wash it off and avoid getting it on your skin.

Love footwear videos and watch them all.. However very surprised that hardly any of them mention the classic Puma. Puma are my everyday go too's since 1984. And IMO are perfect old schools and are timeless. Just my opinion. Bought a pair of thursday sneakers recently and absolutely love them!!! I'm sure they are better than puma in every way but are also twice the price. For an everyday beater puma is still my choice and at 60 bucks are affordable for me and are easy to replace when needed.

the New Balance 990 on the first photo (at 7m 14s) is the original V1, model M990VS1, which was limited-released in mid 2021, and it is no longer available. The newer 990 models, V2-V5, are dramatically different looking sneakers - quite chunky, loud in style, compared to the much more slick and elegant V1 model. If you want something closer to 990 V1 consider New Balance 574. I hope New Balance releases the original 990 V1 in near future.

New balance are junk. I have a pair, and for some reason the plastic counter decided to fold in, right into the heal . Since the cheap material over the counter was ripping it was easy to get some angle cutters and cut the plastic counter down to size, below the bend.

My pick-3, *1) an athletic shoe*(ex. Metcons or Nanos, because these function for all forms of exercise from running to powerlifting), *2) a work-casual shoe* (look for something that looks good dirty so you can wear it casually, ex leather boots such as timberlands, redwings, Thursdays, etc), *3) a formal shoe* (ex oxfords/monkstraps, only for special occasions or business). Shoes I avoid include white sneakers because they are difficult to keep clean, so unless you clean/replace frequently they aren't going to look good with regular wear, but a good alternative would be dark/black sneakers with a white welt or cream/tan sneakers. My favorite sneakers are wolverine 1000mi hi tops in chestnut, and u can get them for under $60.

Ashley, I am 57 years old, all white sneakers look so Marty McFly 1985 to me. That is what we wore in the 80's, the look seems tired to me now. I also don't get the "signature sneaker."
