He's only as good as his direction. He had good direction in Moonlight. People are always bringing up Moonlight. The creators of Moonlight won an Oscar. Trevante was never nominated or won as a performer. Furthermore, Ashton Sanders version of Chiron gave the most compelling performance in that movie.
