Yeeeeaaa! ❤❤ I am a mental health counselor & Christ follower. But I ended up getting addicted to painkillers after surgery (with 6+ years clean now) & then I dealt with a domestically- violent marriage with physical abuse that made me so depressed I literally couldnt move off the couch for 2 years. I felt so much shame as I believed lies I told myself like "Im trained in this stuff & treat others in mental health so there must be something wrong with me if this is whats going on." Turns out early life trauma leads to faulty *life-long* relationship patterns not to mention addiction really is a disease that changes your brain. After trauma therapy & some med changes, but mostly trusting God when trying to take a chance on ppl & trust people again so that I can receive the empathy I need to battle that shame, my depression has finally lifted! Psalm 40:1-3 is what it was like: "I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD." I THANK YOU BOTH for recognizing your God-given talents & allowing God to work thru you for His glory! That is where the joy is found, my friends, so I pray you experience it abuntantly! Thank you also for talking about everything you mention here & I pray for you guys because God is using you to reach new ppl for Him everyday! Much love!❤🎉
