I too noticed positive effects with these meds quickly! but venlafaxine also made me very nauseous and caused that vomit-y feeling- more than any other medication I had food or not! Everyone is different especially with psychiatric medications, cause every brain is different. I eventually had to stop and I’ll be trying something else soon. If that ends up being the case for you, too, know you’re not alone and we can do the hard part together! As for the panic attacks, have you heard of depersonalization/derealization? The way you described feeling like you’d been drinking without having anything definitely reminded me of my experience. Those panic attacks are so unbelievably scary. Wishing you the best, Pixi! You’re such an inspiration to me.

Pixi, you over all seem so much better. We can see it physically in both You & Spanky! Remember when we have less stress the people around us do too. I'm going thru it with ya as after over 5 yrs without Meds I've gotten started back on some. Just Lexapro & Ativan so far but they have been helping a lot. I'm getting more than 4hrs sleep at a time which I've been only getting Cat Naps last few yrs. For now it's just what the Dr from when I had a stay in the hospital having my gallbladder removed can do until I can get in to work with a Mental Health Dr. With my PTSD I suffer with anything you can think of along with the Agoraphobia that's developed. So I'm taking first steps on a long road back to semi-normal. Ok see you guys on Pokémon GO! (I wish we could message thru it!) Spanky would be getting constant "Open Your Gift" messages from me. 🤣 Love to You, Spanky, Ostarra, Ebony & Kori ♥ ~CathyLee

So glad you are feeling alright with the new meds. Sometimes full effects minus side effects can take up to two weeks, but it looks like you feel better. As for chest breathing vs abdominal breathing... I was dealing with that as well, chest breathing causes shortness of breath at times, which can also lead to anxiety... no way for extra air to go, while abdominal breathing moves the diaphragm and does give you extra room to breathe. Have been working on that one as well. Good to hear you do get tired without being a zombie. Good job 👍🏻

So proud of you! I have trauma around meds. Between how I was shoved every med in the 90's as a kid to make me more compliant, to my sister attempting on antidepressants.... my emotions are so strong that I need assistance, but I'm so scared of the side-effects. I'm finally in a place where my ideation has taken a back seat. I have so much to live for now. But being so chemically unbalanced, it won't take much to tip me backwards again. And I can't afford the copay to be able to take needs nor a doctor that can work with me on it.

I'm proud of you for sticking with it. I've been on 20mg citalopram since 2017, and I was like, you too at first and didn't want to rely on tablets, but I'm glad I did seek the help I needed. I do want to get off mine at some point, but I have heard it's not easy, too. Also, I have found that if I miss my tabs for a couple of days, I don't feel well and feel very light-headed and dizzy, so be careful with missing doses, but other than that, you've gotta do what's best for you, you've got this Pixi 👊 🙌💪xo

Had that sickness, dizzyness, light headedness the first two days as well, but I took Lorazepam at the same time to bridge the period of the weaning off from the prior meds and the starting phase of the new ones. Always thought the benzo was the main reason that I felt so bad, because I never had that again in that way since I take them, but maybe not. It's not a magic cure for the panic and anxiety, but it got significantly lesser in frequency and intensity for me, it makes it managable. Keep my fingers crossed for you! 💖

9:58 breathing tip I recently heard (tip for calming toddles, but hey!) - do you want to smell my cookie or blow out my candle? The trick is to either inhale to calm (smell something and bring in the calming air) or exhale to relax (blow out all that you’re holding onto). The answer may change depending on scenario and can be imagined if you can’t physically get something to smell or blow out. Hopefully that helps! ❤ One day at a time, as the saying goes ❤

Hi Pixi & John, You both are awesome. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know how hard it is to find the right meds, and then to adjust to them. I don't react to medicine like most people do. My system is very different than most people. Sleep is so important. That is something I struggle with. It took me decades to get it where I have some control over it. I have narcalepsy, so I want to sleep during the day, and not at night. Even when I am exhausted. I won't sleep during the day, cuz it makes it worse at night. I refuse to take meds to help me have energy or stay awake during the day. I am not so bad that I nod off during the day like some people. But I feel like I could. I would kill to have that feeling at night. Even after I take my perscription sleeping pills, I don't get that feeling at night. It's a bummer. I have other conditions that make me always feel exhausted, so it's a bummer. So I relate and feel for you. Sorry for rambling on so much. Oh, I started living in my car as of the 20th. It will be ok once the weather cools down in a few more weeks. Right now it's still hot. Hit 110 today, which sucks. But I am making it. Much love ❤Jacque

Some of these meds have activation side effects which are miserable. And they kick in before the benefit of the drug does. A different drug works for me. I can finally cross bridges without believing I was going to die. It's a good idea to have your body get used to the first dose before adding in the second. Hopefully this medication will do the job soon

Hey my lovely Pixi bless you; I’ve been super struggling with my mental health & I sort of “shut down” for a bit but I just wanted to say how proud I am of you for sharing your journey with us ❤️🩹🫶🏼✨I can say hand on heart that I do truly know how you feel: not necessarily for the exact same reasons or meds- but with all my conditions & autoimmune diseases over the last 13yrs I’ve been on literally 100s of different meds with varying outcomes. I’m an odd one me; so I react badly to stuff most people are okay on; and react well to stuff other people can’t handle well & I’ve kept EVERY box of meds I’ve been prescribed (not the actual meds lol) but so I have my own record of how many & what I’ve been prescribed & which ones I’ve reacted badly to. I’m severely allergic to penicillin to the point I have to wear a medic alert bracelet cos if I get given it - it’ll kill me😳 But with all my meds (apart from the few that we found out I’m completely intolerant of & ended up rushed into hospital with suspected liver & kidney failure with my rheumatoid arthritis meds & had to have anti sickness injections- I then tried them again but in subcutaneous injection pens which was less severe but they’d knock me out on my arse for a whole week so I had to stop them but to be fair I was injecting a low chemo dose of meds used to treat non Hodgkin’s lymphoma & leukaemia but I just had to stop them in the end & sadly there’s no alternative so I just have to get on with it now lol) but the meds I take every day morning & night work for me now & I’ve slowly worked my way up to the highest doses & I have to take anti sickness meds up to 3 times a day. I still have MAHUSIVE panic attacks when I have to leave my flat for medical appts to the point of throwing up & shaking etc etc & I just have to do “a battle of will” with my own brain & in the end it always depends on how bad my autoimmune diseases are; how bad my mobility & conditions are & I had to re-schedule my echocardiogram till next year cos every time I attempted to go & booked hospital transport - I’d get such bad anxiety cos I was going all by myself that I’d end up stressing myself into a seizure & blacking out🤦🏽♀️ but I’m going to try to sort out someone to come with me next year as some of the tests are designed to try to make me pass out; it’s not really safe for me to go alone anyways. I did recently leave my flat for the 1st time in over a year for an emg dental appt & I did better than I thought I would & im currently waiting for an oral (wahey😜) maxillofacial hospital to have several extractions so we’ll see how I get on nearer the time🤞🏼 I think you’re doing bloody AMAZING all things considered & I just had to let you know even though I’ve been quiet I’ve been right here with you through this & while I’m still struggling (we all do sometimes hey) seeing you doing so well I HAD to tell you how proud I am of you & how much I love you❤️🩹🫶🏼🥰xx you got this darlin💯 Forever a Proud Pirate🫡🏴☠️& a Crap Goth🖤🦇🩷love & hugs always xx
